I echo his sentiment and Bayonetta 1 on 360 was one of my favourite games of last gen, long before the Wii U was announced, much less Bayo 2's exclusivity to it.

I edited my post before you made the comment but looks like I didn't quick enough.

"I'm generalizing so maybe not you specifically, but if this wasn't a common occurance, the generalization wouldn't exist."

It's not exactly a generalization specific to Nintendo fans excited for Bayonetta though, I think all 3 fanbases are guilty of this.

Except on the other two consoles you can give examples of many third party games that sell better than first parties.  That's even more true on Playstation where there's a lot of first party games that don't sell well at all, even though the games themselves are fairly good.

Just this week Destiny outsold Titanfall and Infamous Second Son's current combined LTD sales in a single week, and that's a brand new IP.  On PS4 there's not even an exclusive title in the first five LTD sales.

*edit*

Granted, Bayonetta isn't going to sell well at all, but being a Nintendo exclusive or a first party game, the fans tend to buy those games and ignore third parties.  The reasonn for the lack of support.  Bayonetta will sell better as an exclusive than it ever would have as a third party on the Wii U.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE METASCORES

They make it sound terrible, even though the conclusion is that this is the best version available.

Every other DF anylisis I have read is like this man.

That PS3 version is SHAMEFUL. I don't know how I managed to put up with it.

That's the reason I never finished Bayonetta; I don't own a 360 and never got around to completing it at my buddy's house, and I refused to play through it on my PS3.

Very happy to hear that the WiiU port came out well.

Nintendo has some of the world's most known and famous IPs, its a bit unfair to compare the likes of anything Nintendo produces from Mario to Link to Pokemon, except maybe DK and Metroid, with any third party titles and expect them (third party), when exclusive, to outsell said (first party) titles.

Sony doesn't really have this with any of their IPs (speaking towards a general audience) except Gran Turismo, not since Final Fantasy went multi, and M$ has an equivalently absurdly reknowned IP in Halo and Forza.

See third party developers, you can make good ports on the Wii U.

They're well aware of that. They just don't want to spend money on it.

Yes yes, compare a port that's coming for free, and most likely made within a few months, to a game with a full development cycle for a price, and expect it to run phenomenaly better.
Logic.

I <3 Classic Platformers!

Aye it's finding itself in the same limbo that the Vita lives in, perfectly good hardware to produce games... easier options out there for people to make more money with.
