Forums - Gaming Discussion - GTA 5 Next Gen good purchase or waste of cash???

Ok so we have seen an awful lots of remasters lately, how bout one of the biggest games of last gen.  The last of Us had a decent excuse because it was a Ps3 exclusive but does GTA 5 have a good enough excuse for you guys to shell out another 60+ dollars for?  It has already sold ridicules amounts on PS3/xbox 360 and it was cross platform, so is this really necessary to do a remake already or is it big time milking of the consumer??? Are you planning on buying...?

I'm buying it, don't care if other people think it's milking it. If you don't want it don't buy it.... while millions of others will buy and enjoy :)

Yes, a next gen version is really necessary. The 360- and PS3-versions had performance issues which kept many potential customers from buying these versions.

For these people, it's not another 60+ dollars.

I dont disagree with the notion that performance may not have been amazing... but it was pretty good.

I do not believe it kept many potential customers away from buying, this was the fastest ever selling GTA and it shipped/sold over 30 million copies. So on that note I disagree. I do believe many will rebuy again though, just for the graphical and performance improvements.

I never bought the game, so for me it will be a good purchase. I'm glad I waited.

I would have prefered a new Read Dead game, but I wouldn't consider the current-gen versions of GTAV to be wastes of cash!

I think that this game is worth a direct remaster, because last gen's version does suffer a bit from performance issues. I also think that if Rockstar wants to continue with GTA Online for a long time that the new hardware offers more possibilities to expand the game.

For all games: don't like, don't buy.

GTA, last of Us, Halo are not exactly your average game, people would beg for these games to be remastered if they weren't.

Personally, I'm going to borrow GTA v ps4 of my friend when he's done with it. I have Halo MCC preordered (I've never played most halo games). I also preordered TLoU remastered (first time playing it) and I'm so glad I did, probably the best produced game I've ever played, best graphics, sound and maybe story.

Your arguments are a bit weird. TLOU and GTAV have the exact same reasons to be remastered. They're the 2 GOTG and they released very close to next gen. Not porting them would be a crime and extremely stupid.

But TLOU was exclusive, while GTAV was multiplat. FYI i agree with you, I'm just pointibg out that that's the difference in OPs arguments.
