Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I think Microsoft is releasing the One in the 2nd tier countries a bit too soon

Should Microsoft have waited and bundled the MCC for the tier 2 territories?

Actually the X1 released too soon in tier 1 countries. They should've waited for the MCC bundle.

They really needed to wait until they had very eastern style games ready to be released.

Like bundle the Xbone with Scalebound or something.

I guess Microsoft has waited too long in delaying the console already and dont want the gap between the other consoles to widen further.

They are about 10 months too late to Tier 2.
Especially those 9 countries that were originally scheduled for Tier 1 launch, and then got delayed for no good reason.

The only thing that can entice sales in Tier 2 countries is enabling piracy like on X360.

A bit too soon? More like a bit too late! The Xbox One should have launched in those Tier 2 countries much earlier! Specially in the more important ones like Argentina and India!

I think it's to soon and to late.

They should have had native language support for all countries they were releasing in and additional compelling reasons like the US gets.

Scalebound to me didn't look like something that would appeal to Eastern gamers.  (or Western for that matter)  In any case, we arent going to see this game for over a year.  The "war" will be over before it, Halo 5, or Crackdown release.

I think they were late to the party and should have tried to get out in as many "markets" as possible regardless of tier. In today's economy you don't have very many gamers buying ALL options so any delay is a disadvantage. Though, if we all recall, the 360 (albeit launched a year earlier) was a solid 3:1 favorite over the PS3 and yet at the end of the day both sold 80+ million units so I'm not that concerned about the long term success of the console. It is already outperforming (correct me if I'm wrong) the 360 in terms of year to date when it launched which I can't list as a "failure/flop". Sony just said the rights things at the right time and the whole graphical differences...negligible. I've watched NUMEROUS comparisons of games for XB1/PS4/PC and the differences aren't that noticeable if at all. Besides for all those "hardcore" gamers out there, if you truly are, you'll just game on PC since PC is far superior to ANY consoles on the market hands down. No one can deny that. Personally, I'm a console fan and will continue to game on consoles. Since I don't like the PS controllers, looks like a Sunset Overdrive Bundle is in my near future! Enjoy gaming!

If you look at the past 12 months, yes the XB1 is doing better than the 360.  However, when you look at just 2014 sales, it is tracking well below what the 360 was doing.  They had a good LAUNCH, but after that...it has tanked.

Oh, and you should try the PS4's Dualshock 4 controller!  It's a HUGE improvement from the DS3, and IMHO a better controller than the XBox One's.  (the 360 controller is still my favorite though!)

@jnemesh Thanks but no thanks on the controller as I have tried it and still don't like it.  I will say it is better than their previous controllers but still don't care for it so that will prevent me from buying a PS4 (or any Sony console) for the forseeable future.  The beauty of choice.

Also, after running some VERY rough numbers from VGChartz, it appears the 360 sold 5.9 million through August 2006 so it may not be blowing away the 360 in terms of sales but is still right in line considering their monumental screw ups at E3.

It was too late as is...it should've launched months ago.
