I think Microsoft is releasing the One in the 2nd tier countries a bit too soon

If you look at the past 12 months, yes the XB1 is doing better than the 360.  However, when you look at just 2014 sales, it is tracking well below what the 360 was doing.  They had a good LAUNCH, but after that...it has tanked.

Oh, and you should try the PS4's Dualshock 4 controller!  It's a HUGE improvement from the DS3, and IMHO a better controller than the XBox One's.  (the 360 controller is still my favorite though!)
