it will EASILY be bigger than both, and a survey in america said most kids want that than skylanders ect

Out of all the poll options I would have to choose "It will flop", cause I don't think it'll be bigger than either Skylanders or Disney Infinity.

The fact that Skylanders and Disney Infinity each have one game that absolutely needs those figures is a advantage to them. I don't see anything from Amiibo at the moment that would really appeal to the Skylanders/Infinity crowd.

Personally I know only one person that has some of these toys, my 8 year old half sister and I really don't think that she would give a crap about having toys that she can basically use to spawn bots in Smash Bros. And her parents wouldn't be thrilled about it either cause it'd mean buying a 300€ system just for it.

Also am I the only one that finds it kinda counterproductive to use Smash Bros, a game that is more aimed at a teen audience, as the main game to promote Amiibos, toys mainly aimed at kids, with at the moment?

Smash Bros Amiibos seem to market themselves as collector figurines. The fact that it has characters like Mario, Peach, and Pikachu allows it to aim towards children. Because of this, I think Amiibos can have a modest success as such things. No idea on how big it will spur Wii U sales since toys and game interaction aren't new anymore.

I will eat my own shoe (which I haven't cleaned in months) if amiibos become a hit.

With that i don't see a problem. Kids are playing even COD and GTA. Smash can be aimed at all ages.

I also don't think it is right to say it will be just a bot spammer in smash, it was already said it will save the player skill set up's and work towards other games. While they still didn't announced all the functions, i do believe it will (or at least can) do many more things.

The point i agree with you is that a stand alone game would help a lot.

Too little too late. They should have had a game based around the figurines as well, but sadly they don't. In addition to this it should have launched with the Wii U, and with good marketing. All those ships have sailed with exception of the marketing one, and let's face it, it's Nintendo.

I don't think it will sell systems, but it could be a hit.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I see this being a moderate success, particular in Japan.

Who knows at this point, really? All I want is a Slowpoke Ouroboros amiibo.
