Amiibo will not be the next Skylander, it will be the next Wii Mote.

Too little too late. They should have had a game based around the figurines as well, but sadly they don't. In addition to this it should have launched with the Wii U, and with good marketing. All those ships have sailed with exception of the marketing one, and let's face it, it's Nintendo.
