Forums - Sales Discussion - November Update!!!! Under 3m - Predict: Xbox One will sell more in the US than WiiU will Worldwide

Oh it's definitely on lock, those thinking XB1 is going to do on par with the original Xbox on the US are way off base.

It's ok, I got a similar response all those years ago when I said Xbox 360 will overtake Wii in the US.

It's looks like WiiU has begun to outsell Xbox One consistently. It's gonna close for 2nd place.

Shipments look/will look, like this tho

Q1 XB1 > WiiU
Q2 XB1 > WiiU
Q3 XB1 > WiiU

FYI I will be updating the thread every month.

I really don't think so.......

The baseline of Wii U is larger and WILL CONTINUE to be bigger after the holidays.

X1 only has the holidays to CONTINUOUSLY outsell the Wii U each year if it wants to overtake it globally.
Besides, the x1 is failing in EU without a new release of fifa.

Wii U can overtake the holiday sales gap of wii u and x1 throughout the first couple months of 2015 - as long as the release weeks also get tons and tons of sales.

Even if the XBox One sells exactly like the original XBox, just with a 5 year primary cycle (plus a few late straggler sales in year 6), it should sell 20 million in the US comfortably.

The XBox sold 16 million in North America from 2001-2005 and MS effectively was already phasing it out by fall 2005.

It should have sold 20 million or so at least if it's life cycle hadn't been cut short.

I think it's a serious question whether or not Nintendo can sell 20 million worldwide period. They are not on pace to do so even with MK8.

from the thread maker "Until WiiU shows us it can get to, and maintain above 4m+ a year, it can't be given the benefit of the doubt. Smash may be an amazing game, but so were the half a dozen other Nintendo titles that have come out the last 18 months and done little to nothing for hardware." please please please don't sit there and try to compare any of the wii u releases that have been released already to super smash brothers because to nintendo fans that game is god I'm a nintendo follower but i don't even care all that much for SSB, but i know my fellow nintendogs lol absolutely worship this game going all the way back to the greatest system ever made the N64. That game is gonna propel the wii u to its greatest sales by like 300%

No one can deny the wii u hasn't released anything attention grabbing or momentum building untill MK8 and just like EVERYONE said its selling amazingly just imagine when SSB comes out which will be bigger than MK8 mark my words and add a few under the radar gems nintendo seems to release the wii u will be fine. A shaky start with a lack of software support for its first year and a half doesn't tell the story of a 5 to 6 year console lifespan. People are getting ahead of themselves times are tough the wii u is cheaper more eneergy effiecient and VERY kid friendly just imagine at christmas all the spoiled rich kids getting their parents to buy them a wii u and years down the road all the poor people who have been saving to buy one. Rarely do i get a console when it releases i usually wait 2 or 3 years still enjoying the last generation.

I don't understand why anyone would purchase an xbox one. It has literally nothing going for it and is going to bomb majorly this holiday. Repackaging old halo games fools no one. Halo 5 without bungie who cares. Same thing for gears. I doubt xbone lasts more than two more years.

Yet another thread detailing how wishful thinking is going to let the XB1 win this gen against it's competitors. Aint gonna happen. XB1 will end up third this gen.

As a huge Nintendo fan, I have to disagree with you..

It's not selling that great even with Mario Kart 8. Back to 80k/month in North America and probably continuing to drop from there.

Sub-100k months were rare for the GameCube until late in its life cycle, but its the norm for the Wii U.

yeah dude but you and everyone else can agree that the wii u released waaay to soon they just didn't have enough games flowing i really don't count 2013 i start the wii u from this year on because once mid 2015 hits april or so when X comes out by then (fingers crossed) with SSB on top of that and the fact that everyone knows the longer the system is around the easier it is for companies to figure out the infrastructure, so games can be made quicker and a lot better which can help attract some 3rd party support plus nintendo can start getting a streamline of games going with releases every 2 months or so every month coupled with 3rd party support. add N64 and gamecube Virtual Console/remakes and the wii u can really be a good system capable of selling at least 40 million. People are just jumping the gun way to early to say the wii u is a flop.
