If Nintendo charging people online gets them to create a more robust online, help speed up VC game releases, add more online features for others, and tie in an account for the games, I'd more than be willing to pay.

Pretty much this! The WiiU's VC is......... disappointing to say at least! :-/

STILL. NO. N64 OR GC. GAMES..... :(

The op is way late in the game. Fact, most people dont mind, the sales of the current consoles and even the last ones show this, deal with it. As for supportiing Wii U. Im sorry no, there online still lags behind not to mention im not missing out on games i actually want to play.

Nintendos online services are greatly improved, a lot better than some people give credit for. Im extremely happy with it, and it has an added bonus of being free.

You're saying this like you have some authority on what the Wii U online is like, nevermind the accounts, everything else works better than it has ever worked on PS for me. Hell Sony isn't doing much for the PS4, they are using the same slow ass servers from the PS3. Also "thier" not "there", and you don't exclusively have to own a Wii U, what this thread is about is support.

If you want to be a child about it and not support Nintendo go ahead. It's already a collective agreement if you weren't a sheep you'd still support Nintendo whether or not you buy a damn console. I would guess that about 80% of the current population of gamers have owned a NES, SNES, and n64. If you were born some time in the past 15 years you likely dislike and don't like the very grown up and adult policies that Nintendo has in place.

Also what I bolded is not fact, that is your opinion on why people don't mind this. Here's a fact, people DO NOT buy a gaming console for it's services. They buy it to play games and have fun. I've never met someone so who was so dumb that they said "PS4 uses PS+ for multiplayer. I think I should buy that console because it's using a subscription service".

The market has spoken, they do NOT want the WiiU & what it offers, instead they want the PS4 & what it offers...the sales speak for themselves.

There is no 'Should', the WiiU is a poor product and the market at large has rejected it, hence the poor sales....this is how the free market works.

Also for those that love it and say it's a great product, keep in mind that their is a fandom for just about everything, so you personally liking it and thinking it's a great product doesn't make it so. Again, the sales or lack there of show this.

Nintendo are the ones responsible for the WiiU failure in the market, so it's them and them alone that can turn this around....well at least try too. They can start by overhauling the performance of the UI cuz currently it's slow as hell...funny thing is the PS3 is faster when navigating to the system options than the WiiU, then Nintendo can move into 2014 with the way they handle DRM; as in digital content locked to an account NOT hardware, an account that can be activated/deactivated from hardware by the user either on the hardware it's self or from Nintendo's official website, a proper online infrastructure that is competitive enough while providing a unique Nintendo like service similarly to how Sony did PS+ ... If they need to charge for online, then do it but make it actually worth while ... Again look at PS+... If it's great the fans will pay, hell even Microsoft was forced to copy PS+.

You know I shouldn't have to pay JUST TO PLAY ONLINE. I already have to pay my internet bill I don't need another bill to pay just to play online a few times a week with my friends. Basic online play should be free, the other stuff I don't care about being put behind a pay wall. I think the only reason there is no Nintendo Premium right now is because they don't have much to offer for a subscription base.

Fully agree with you.

Nintendo has an IMMENSE library from previous generations that they could offer via a subscription. I think they have tons to offer. That's definitely not the reason they don't have a premium service like you've mentioned.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

yes it is a fact, because every other console right now. Xbone not withstanding is doing better than WIi U. So that right there tells you people dont really mind paying a fee. So way to miss the point. If it was a big as a deal as you are making it out to be and the OP is PS4 and Xbone would not have had better sales in their first year than Wii U did, so explain that away.

As for the rest I have a 3ds, will get a Wii u, but lets use some common sense. The OP saying support the Wii U meaning dont get the other consoles because they charge for online. Isnt that the point of the thread? Cause if i buy ps4 or xone anyway it defeats the ops purpose. I am getting 4 and U eventually myself.

That's the main reason why I'm not interested in buying a PS4 or Xbox One.

I don't have a problem with subscription fees. It's $60 a year and you get free games and massive discounts every month. Plus the online components for the PS4/XBO are far far superior than the WiiU. I mean any games you buy digitally are tied to the hardware instead of your account. That's like PS2 level shit.

Except that's not really true....   Online purchases are tied to your account and your account is tied to your hardware.

That's..... not really much different. Don't you have to like phone Nintendo up to get your account switched to a different console? That isn't the kind of things that should be needed in the present.

No, you don't.
