I don't see how 8th gen tops that. The PS4 may just end up outselling the Wii, but the Xbox One and Wii U probably won't come anywhere near their predeccessors (especially the Wii U).

I could see collective sales at only 180-200 million tops, rather than the ~260 million of last generation.

Not to mention handheld sales, which were a combined 230 million last gen (80 million from PSP, 150 million from DS), are bound to be lower, with the ceiling on the 3DS seeming to be 80 million and the Vita 15-20 million, and that's being very optimistic.

I doubt it will sell more than last gen. But I think numbers will be higher than we think for the 3 home consoles. We won't really be able to tell how much less it will sell until next year or even 2016
