Sega 14 22.22%

Sega 8 12.70%

Hudson 0 0%

Toei 1 1.59%

From Software is one of my favorite Jap Devs since SE is far up their own ...

I get why people like them for the Souls line, but I prefer the Armored Core Series myself.

If Capcom has to be bought, I think it should be a Japanese Multiplat dev before we even consider platform makers.

If not From

Sega

Atlus

Toei

Game Freak

Hudson

Funimation

Bandai Namco

Square Enix

Nintendo | Sony

Let's face it Sony and Nintendo both focus on their own IPs and NIntendo focuses even more on their succesful IPs, with the Exception of Megaman, a Multiplat dev would at least ensure the most IPs stay afloat, and SE would take them to mobile so even more people can enjoy Street Fighter, a series btw that I really doubt Nintendo would want competing with Smash. Sony would actually focus on Street Fighter (kind of tapped out on 4 imo) but regardless From or a multiplat like it would be the best option.

That is if Capcom was for sale.

Is From big enough to purchase Capcom, or are you talking about Kadokawa?

So to Kadokawa? Is Kadokawa Shoten big enough to afford that?

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Just because they're your favourites doesn't mean they'll do the IPs justice.

From Software has pretty much cut their own niche in the market and almost perfected it. Their expertise isn't suited for games like Megaman and Street fighter. Sony and Nintendo are more rounded in that aspect.

Nintendo genuinely would be best IMO and they have the cash to throw at this. They probably wouldn't interfere too much beyond upping the level of quality control and changing which platforms releases are on. Crucially for them it locks in MonHan for them, they could force an HD port of 4 for the Wii U, increases their 'hardcore' IP portfolio, but most importantly; it increases their bandwidth for first party games and brings in expertise in developing for HD platforms. I think it makes most sense for Nintendo to try and take it.

Sony can't afford it.
Microsoft don't care, and would do another Rare.
Sega could work, but their quality control is less than stellar.
Squeenix are also not in a great place financially.
EA...Ubisoft...please no....

Apple genuinely would be best IMO and they have the cash to throw at this. They probably wouldn't interfere too much beyond upping the level of quality control and changing which platforms releases are on. Crucially for them it locks in Ace Attorney for them, they could force ports of all Ace Attorney games in glorious Retina resolutions for iPad and iPhones. I think it makes most sense for Apple to try and take it.

Sorry, Resident Evil fans and Monster Hunter fans, but Ace Attorney is more important ;)

I would like to see SEGA getting the Capcom IPs, Nintendo would also be interesting.
