It should also be noted the Wii was more competitively priced.

The Wii was selling 250k per week regularly at this point in time.
The gap will grow and the PS4 will stay behind for a good three years at least, imo.

I stand by what I always said: the PS4 doesn't need to outsell the Wii now to outsell it lifetime, it just needs to have a longer life.

The Wii sold >1 million a month during that summer. PS4 doesn't have a chance.
I'm pretty impressed it stayed ahead for this long, considering the sales of the Wii U less so the xbox one.

The Wii peaked and died quickly, if the PS4 can last as long as the PS3 and keep selling good then it will outsell it for sure.
Revenge of the casuals haha.
But seriously it was bound to happen, though it's because of Japan it happened so quickly.
With it being double the price I'm amazed it managed 27 weeks, great achievement.
