Game sales or hardware sales?

It is implied to be hardware based off the title of the thread ...

It'll give it a modest boost.

You left out the part where I said there are way more participating stores than previous events. 2,700 stores for this event v.s. 100 for the E3 event. Of course there's gonna be less people at any given store! Still they could of advertised this more, but even if they did, I doubt it'd have a major effect on sales. It's still good that they're doing this though! I for one was very much pleased, and cannot wait to play SSB4 next!

Also, the demo was only 100cc, and you shouldn't expect Mario Kart to reach F-Zero speeds. As for the anti-gravity, you should of went to Mario Circuit, where you can see Princess Peach's Castle upside-down, or Electrodrome, where you can see other racers on the ceilings and walls!

LOL at your sign xD 145K in Japan by they way, not globally.

Now, I think I agree with you spurgeonryan, the game looks cool and all but there's something wrong with the tracks... they feel boring, I don't know. And not many people aside from traditional players seem to be talking about it either. I highly doubt the game will boost the Wii U like many people claim. 100K hardware units sold globally during the first week (even if the console has that luck) and then back to the 40-50K in the second week.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

That thread was strictly referring to Japan, I think. Globally, I'm expecting something bigger than that, 250K copies for North America, 150K copies for Europe and 150 for Japan. That's 550K copies for me, globally.
