Vita slim releases in USA, sells out in multiple retailers, Vita sales decrease 300 units week on week.

Good-o, VGChartz.

Ha I noticed that as well. I'm predicting that won't be the case for long.

Still it's not hard to sell out 3 consoles if we're honest (What's worrying is that probably isn't all that inaccurate looking at sales of the Vita in the US as a whole)

Also, wow 3DS will be below 100k next week perhaps; worrying times indeed for the once all-dominant console it looked like last year. PS4 is heading that way as well, but I doubt it'll fall below the 100k mark anytime soon. Aside from that, pretty much as you were.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Honestly...not really.

For me this isn't even about who wins, it's about numbers that make sense and those X1 and also but to a lesser degree PS4 numbers just seem to high to me, considering all we've heard/seen.

yeah, i'm not sure i think the ps4 is undertrack as much as i think the xbone is overtracked.  i mean,. there has got to be a reason they just killed kinect right?  low numbers seems like the obvious reason.

anyhoo..

Good old May, blessing us with terrible sales as every year.

Mobile is the future tbh, the day the iPhone comes with an Xperia play like design is the day the game industry is in real trouble tbh.

nah, there is just no way to make that kind of gamepad slider ergonomic

a possibility could be magnetic attachments of pretty much half-controllers you attach to each side of the smartphone when you want to play, but it probably makes the person holding that look like a dork, so a lot of people would reject that aswell

I think ioi felt the shitstorm coming with April NPD and adjusted the predictions

yeah, i'm really anxietous for the npd numbers tomorrow.  pre and post,. ioi has them basically at a tie so things didn't change much.  i expect a much bigger gap though

Yep, those adjustments are a bad joke. The NPD numbers will absolutely shatter anyone thinking these XB1 numbers are near accurate. No AAA title + $499 price = hahahahahahaha.

I'm still genuinely mystified as to just how the numbers are so completely broken. If I hadn't seen this already happen over and over again I might be willing to suspend disbelief, but it's just stupid at this point.

Those are some numbers... Get out the skeptics!!

VGC has been doing alright for the last few months but i think NPD will tell us a very different story for april and may. We shall see.

To be honest having played a fair share of smartphone games, the issue with them isn't so much the lack of buttons as it is a lack of directional input. A small joystick or even trackball that provided physical input for character/cursor movement on-screen would open the door to much deeper gaming experiences without having to alter the look of a smartphone too much.

I don't really have a problem pressing on-screen buttons, but on-screen analog/d-pads just never work well. Even without a traditional button layout a phone could still also have an L/R shoulder button design too for physical buttons. Most types of games really only need two primary button commands anyway -- one for "jump" and one to make the character attack, and then from there you can assign secondary movements/commands to on-screen buttons.

Good-o, VGChartz.

I was just about to write the same thing.

VGC is getting more and more unreliable every week. With the Kinect news, my guess is that XOne is overtracked once again...
