I am surprised so many people say it won't. X1 is already outselling ps4, and with the price cut, it will catch up fast.

Where is this world where x1 is outselling PS4?

At this point, Canada would be the only possibility since the price increase.  I'm not aware of anytime we get sales figures just from there though

Hard to say, honestly. Anything still can happen but the Xbox one would have to sell a shit ton to pass the PS4 at this point.

With Phil in charge, its possible, plus halo and Gears game will be close to being out in 2015 sometime. I think it will definitely beat ps4 in NA now kinect tax is gone and paywalls for stupid shit.

Some free games on xbo with gold would help make gold worth the cost imo.

It will definitely help sells....but I'm a litte wary. The price cut to $450 in many major retailers (although not all of them), then Titanfall bundled and even Forza and some XBL subscriptions were bundled in many places long with TF, as well, and that all resulted in lower weekly sales than February for XBone (I really wish people would stop saying TF boosted XBOne sales. It really didn't. 258k in a 4 week month (February)  = 64.5K a week. 311k in a 5 week month (March) = 62.2K a week. Dropping from 64.5k a week to 62.2k a week is not "boosting sales") in NA and all that stuff didn't help it outsell the PS4 in March (and it probably won't look too good for April either).

Everyone kept saying how "the XBone is actually $10 cheaper than PS4" with all those goodies packed in. Now it's at price parity with none of those things in and no Kinect. Is it *really* gonna just blow past the PS4 now? It's still early in the gen, so anything can happen. But don't jump too quickly on the bandwagon that XBone sales will now shoot to the moon, and pass PS4. Recent trends show otherwise

That's not true!!! The PlayStation has not the better versions, the PlayStation has just the higher resolution in games, but this will also change with Direct X12 and the Kinectless SKU. And higher resolution means not that you have a great game, Killzone Shadow Fall as example is just an average game, and even a 4000x 3000 resolution will not make this game better or worse. It's not about the resolution of games, its about the games! I don't care about resolution for myself and I think that Super Mario Bros on the NES is more fun to play than Killzone: Shadow Fall ;)

Many people (not me I might add) only buy consoles for 3rd party games on the whole and don't care about exclusives (who are these weirdo's :) - in terms of those multiplat games that are available on PS4/XBO then indeed the better versions (FPS/Framerate) is on the PS4, and up until 9th June will be on the cheaper PS4... even with the price cut, those multiplat games on the whole will still be better on the PS4.

So yes I agree a crap game with a high resolution is not better than a good game with a lower resolution, but that's not what the main comment was about. :)

I'am wondering why everyone purchases a PS4 instead of a XBox One because the XBox One has the better games right now! I hope this will change with the Kinectless XBox One SKU!!!

That's subjective. What isn't subjective is that the PS4 has the better version of multiplats.

OT: I think the X1 will overtake the PS4 in the U.S. by next March or maybe even by the end of this year.

HOW dare you bring fun into this XD

Really surprised at how one-sided the poll is. There is a long way to go this gen

While it'll help, sometimes a price cut/change in system may not help (See PS3 at first). While I think in NA the Xbox One could catch the PS4 (it's a decent prediction, first first response in thread) There are a lot of factors that could still hurt the Xbox One. Things like games matter, both PS4 and Xbox One have just had a big game out and more on the way, each with their own small spike.

Xbox One outsold the PS4 in NA this week by 2000 units, 2000 units times 24 month (aka 2016) is only 50k and they are down by 300k. Keep in mind in that time other games will release, both consoles will have a price reductions as costs of manufacturing go down, things like that. Week before that only 1k units, week before that PS4 won. The price reduction bump might only be 5k units, still not enough.

Then there is that one very important thing, maybe, just maybe, less people want the Xbox One. If you are going to spend the money, people will buy what they want not what is cheapest, especially when it comes to games consoles. Many on his site that don't have next gen consoles have already made up their mind what they want, they are just waiting for the correct price. But we are die hard fans, the casual market could affect it a little but they aren't looking to spend $400 in June. That's what Christmas is for.

No it didn't
VGChartz Numbers are wrong
Look at the last month NPD where suddenly the PS4 especially after adjustments was far far far ahead again.
Only on the weekly VGchartz numbers the X1 is somehow ahead and no one knows why they do this all the time.

Its chances have certainly increased. I imagine there are a decent few achievement whores who were on the fence for a while hesitant to make the swap to ps4 because of all the nerd-hours they put into their gamerscore.

Getting real PS4 = SNES, XB1 = Genesis vibes here, it will probably be extremely close in North America.
