Forums - Nintendo Discussion - According to some on Vgchartz, one-three games is enough reason to buy a new system, so why is the Wii U "not worth it" to some?

But people know that PS4 and X1 will get all the 3rd party stuff and will be graphically more advanced than Wii U. That's why they buy them, regardless of how many exclusive games the system has.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

I never said the games had to be out yet.

If I waited until all the games were out, I'd be waiting to get a next gen. console for a while.

And besides, while it is true that I'm still waiting for Halo, and SO right now, there are already 2 of the 4 games out right now that I'm having a blast playing right now with the other two ariving later this year.

It just made the most sense for me as the Wii U won't have 3 games I want by the end of the year (Unless Zelda releases this year), and neither would PS4 wich only has 1 game I'm interested in comming out this year, and none I'm interested in that are out now.

Ok, good point. For me they games HAVE to be out, I don´t buy based on hopes and possibilities If I spend my money now, is to get something now, potential is good to have, but you can always end up with a FF XIII vs situation, where the game is not going to be released for the PS3 anymore.

I will say over 60 games is more than enought reason to buy a PS4.

It's really easy to explain really. One - three games can be enough to decide to buy a certain system if that console also delivers all the big multi platform games and is future proof(XBone/PS4). One - three games are probably not enough to make someone decide to buy a system if it misses out on a lot of big multi platform games and is probably not future proof(Wii-U).

Pretty simple really.

What gegroy said. And you can't simply say 'let's say they are games they like' as a solution, because it only makes the argument more general; some will buy and some still won't bringing in more factors for condition. With that said, If I hadn't already bought the WiiU then it definitely would have been worth it to me. In my case, a Donkey Kong Country game would have been sufficient.

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

It depends on the games of course

I got a PS4 because it has more games worth it for me
XB1 only has DR3 until 2015 so i'm not getting it
Wii U has nothing for me so i'm not getting it

I didn't buy PS4 for its games. I'm getting Wii U for Rosalina in Smash 4, and I'll get a XB1 for Halo 5 bundle.

Ummm...then why did you buy it?

@ Jizzbeard

Acually, that is what my Nintendo rep I talked to said. He said his PS4 was being used for movies right now. Then we talked about why people bought those two systems so early.

Now this might not making any sense to some...but I bought it because I didn't want to be affected by supply issues when I would want to buy it. I own a ps4, its in Houston, I go to school in Chicago. As of now, my PS3 is with me and its distracting enough as it is. Next year, I'll take my PS4 instead and Wii U with me.

Well, some people such as FPS gamers only need one game to justify buying a new console. Numbers of FPS gamers have increased over the years and are a sizeable portion of the gaming community. As for me, Super Smash Bros U, X, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, Zelda U, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, LEGO City Undercover, ZombiU, and Pikmin 3 should be more than enough to justify the purchase a Wii U.

My PS1 was filled with awesome titles after just a few years, but the game that pushed me to purchase a PS1 was Tomb Raider 2.
I just could not live another day not playing that game. Bye bye Sega Saturn.

The PS2 was a shoe in. All the awesome titles from the PS1 era was enough for me to stick with the Playstation brand, plus it had a built in DVD player which at the time was nice to have in my game system and as we all know, the Playstation 2 was filled with so many great titles.

With The Playstation 3 I knew I was getting all the great Sony franchises, along with DVD player, Music player plus the Blu-Ray era was in full effect, so that in itself was a great package, its a no brainer.

These days I dont think that any 3 games will make me pump out $400+ for a console, but with all the added features in these consoles, Blu-Ray, Netflix App, NBA App, Browser, Redbox App, its not really about 3 games, its about the total package for me.
