Not sure what I'm missing here, but last time I've checked, SEGA is still quite profitable.
It worth it for their franchises, gives ninty same maturity and more diversity. That's if they choose to make them, they could make em now them self's but don't. So whats the point if likely the most profitable would be MarioSonic games.
Best case, hope they fund some games they would normally never make them self's. And let them make sega games, don't nintendfy them.
I hope it's Nintendo, they fit very well with them.

Despite a questionable presence in the west and a major downsizing, SEGA posts profit these days.
I don't think SEGA is going under and I don't think they are going to be bought out. Instead, I think they will get back into the hardware industry by merging with Nintendo. Imagine Total War games on the Wii U with gamepad support for controlling armies *droooool*
If this were a thing, if anyone should do it, it should be Nintendo. And honestly, Nintendo should have made a play to buy them years ago. They would actually ensure that all those great Sega properties get used once in awhile.
Besides, if Nintendo bought Sega, they'd also own Atlus. :)
Sega isn't good enough these days to be bought by anybody. This is only my opinion of course.
Definitely Sony. With the PS2 selling so well and their near-certain domination of the portable market once the PSP is released, soon they'll have an abundance of funds and will probably make several major acquisitions.
EA... And then we will really realize what it means to have shit localization
