That honestly would make much more sense.

SEGA buy Capcom?
House of The Dead Rising?
Final Rage?
Mega Sonic?
Shinobi May Cry?
I'M IN...!!!!!!!
Sega is doing well right now, Sony is not. I'm not sure why you would think they would buy Sega.
They just recently outbid everyone to get Atlus. Well, everyone that was interested. I don't think they're in danger of going under anytime soon. If they were though, I would hope SONY bought them. At least then, we would probably see the Yakuza series consistently localized as PSN games.

They couldn't afford to cover all that debt.

Sega won't go under, but if they were to ever be in a situation like that.. I believe Nintendo would fit the bill nicely, with that collaboration, no one could stop the duo. But that won't happen, and as a die hard Sega fan I'm happy it won't.
If they were going under (which I didn't know they were in danger of) I think Nintendo would be the one to buy them.
Isn't this question ten years too late and the answer’s Sammy Corporation.
Now what do I win.

Likewise, in a heartbeat.
Also SEGA & Capcom combining Streets of Rage/Final Fight and keeping it 2D *drools*
