I would argue that we've gotten plenty of excitement from the handheld segment of the 8th Generation so far. Especially last year with the 3DS, in which we got stellar games such as Fire Emblem: Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Pokemon X/Y, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Shin Megami Tensei IV, and Bravely Default.

Since then the 3DS output has lessened in 2014, and the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 are now exiting their honeymoon phases, and the Wii U and Vita are continuing to struggle to attract big name games due to low sales. So yeah, I can understand when you say that 2014 isn't delivering the games that many of us are accustomed to. And with budgets growing and manpower increasing to create the content needed for a full fledged gaming experience... I doubt we'll see gaming development speed up any time soon.

I think that E3 2014 will be one of the most important E3's we'll see for some time, as it'll give us a roadmap of what to expect from each console and handheld moving forward. The holiday season is looking pretty barren right now, but I'm expecting some pretty big games to drop. We'll see what happens.

I've enjoyed the few games that I've played so far on 8th gen. None of the generations I've played have been bad, that being the 5th, 6th, 7th, and now 8th.

We wait... This gen (minus Wii U) isn't even half a year old.

8th gen just started, except for Wii U which indeed "lacks excitement" is being too nice.

Wii U is more like a very late 7th gen console without most of the 7th gen games to play on it.

Does that not you get excited even a little bit? Like come on... I get there are other hawt chicks on ps3/360/ps4/x1 but There is something to be said when one of the hottest chicks in gaming becomes even hotter

Yea but not with Samus... See, making something hawt isn't just about looks, (but most of it is), its also about the gradual improvement! Samus has always been in a position where she everyone that likes her wants to see what she will look like next gen which is one of the main reasons why there are so many people were all over her the day Nintendo revealed her for the first time in SSB vs some Generic character that looks hawt.

I can show you 100s of pictures of Dead of Alive chicks that look hotter than both of them but not many people would care as much simply cause they are not symbolic enough (for a lack of a better word). Solid Snake on the other hand... That game is the very reason why I bought a ps3... As soon as that game came out, bam, bought one!

Of course, when tits comes out on the ps4 and x1, everyone's jaw will drop but I do think that the effect of it will not be as WoW as something like Samus (either that or I have been looking at her tits too much)
