3 is better and a masterpiece cause of it being more varied and offers a more personal story. Truly every single moment is memorable.

I liked Uncharted 2 singleplayer most of all, the campaign of U3 was close but 2 is my fav (not by a very big gap).
But the multiplayer in Uncharted 3 was by faaar better than the multi of 2 (imo). Much much more balance and better support. But because I value singleplayer more than multiplayer. Uncharted 2 is the best Uncharted game.
You should play U3 however. It is a blast as well and people who say it's nothing compared to U2 are plain stupid.
Person -(Me/my brother/friend#1/friend#2/friend#3)
Fav Uncharted-(U2 /-U3 - /- U1- / - U3- / - U2- )
Least Fav -(U1 /-U1- /- U2- / - U1- / -U1- )
See...It's a matter of taste.
(Everybody likes U1 btw, it's just less good tha the other two.Still it's fantastic)

Also what BMaker11

said are excactly my thoughts for these games.EXACTLY.

Uncharted 2 for me is the best in the series. But i think U3 had better MP.

Uncharted 3 is best of the bunch. UC2 gets the praise it does because it is leaps & bounds better than UC1 and UC3 gets the criticism it does because it's quite similar to UC2. In actuality nearly every aspect of UC3 is better than UC2. Save for Chloe's rump.

I go by the gameplay and progression, and for that Uncharted 3 was best. The improvements to the melee was substantial. The flow of the progression was also amazing. I also felt it had the best antagonist characters.

Uncharted 2 villian was the worst in the series.

I agree and while Uncharted 2 had probably the best single level with the train, Uncharted 3 had the best levelS overall.  From the burning building to the plane approach and crash to the ship sinking (which was mind melding topsy turvy) and of course the final city collapse (capped off by a MUCH better final boss fight than 2).

2 by far. 1 was done well to introduce gamers to the new game series, and is still to this day one of the few games i played through more than once. 2 took what 1 gave us, and made it 10 times better in every way, imo. 3 wasn't a bad game by any means, it just wasn't as epic of a transition from three to two, as it was from 1 to 2. 3 also didn't seem to have quite the wow factor that 1 and 2 had. Golden Abyss is good, but not great.

All are excellent, but I'm going to throw my hat in the 2 corner. It was a good improvement on the first, and just seemed to click slightly more with me than 3.

Don't forget Golden Abyss, particularly good for a handheld title.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

By far Uncharted 2. I played the 3rd one first, thought it was awful, definitely one of the most overrated games in history. I am glad I decided to check out Uncharted 2, much more gripping, better locations, better characters, just all round awesome game.

I really liked 3, but when being subjective to time scales i think 2 comes out on top. Other than the story i'd say 3 did nothing but improve upon the last, but it lacked the "holy shit" upgrade from the 1st that the second enjoyed.
