Forums - Sony Discussion - Will the PSVita Exclusive "Digimon Story" put the franchise back on the map

It's Vita exclusive, so... no.

Its from Namco right? They're like the best Japanese publisher when it comes to localizing lately. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is coming, Xilia 2 and Tales of Zestiria is announced simultaneously with a western release.

Bamco wont even localise the Vita Tales games, I've got no hope for this one getting localised :'^(

The Vita tales games were just ports. This has a much higher budget and so they have more incentive to try and sell to the west. Furthermore sony are only now making a push for the localising Japanese games, an exclusive like this will probably be high on their priority list.

The recently announced One Piece game is even more reason to a have a little more faith :)

if its good it will be like persona a slow burner, a lot of people played Persona 1 back then like Digimon World, but it isn't popular now this is releasing people might pick it up because they liked Digimon World and new people might join in and it will be a niche success like Persona 3 did they might then eventually remake Digimon World and Digimon World 2 and get a big fanbase like Persona did , and Digimon might go back to anime niche market.

this is all if the game is actually good.

Just can't wait to get my hands on it. I remember some of those old school digimon from the movie, years ago.

If it was on 3DS/home consoles, I'd buy it. There is your problem.

EDIT: These guys need to be working on a Wii U Pokemon RPG. Pokemon World.

It looks great, if they bring it to the west I would buy it. Responding the question: not even Vita is on the map now.

It'd be easier to put it back on the map if it ever was on the map in the first place. Can't put something back where it never was, you know.

Totally offtopic but I approve of your avatar, as little as I know about it. (And yes, I think I do have an idea about where it's from.)

Are you not aware that Digimon was hugely popular back in the 90's? Particularily the anime and card game but the original trilogy of video games was pretty successful.  I'm taking this as a sign that you probably a teenager who was just a baby during that time or not even around.
