I think the only thing which could hinder the PS4 is Sony, and their reputation for.... not so good decisions.

The good thing about this is the group of people at the top now are not the same people that made all the bad moves. Better yet, the guy in charge is a gamer first, and fully backs Playstation unlike former top men. Sony have stopped letting hardware desiners run the buisness, and handed the reins to developers, and their intrests are most power, easier to use, and lowest price. 

The HDD can be easily replaced against another 2,5''-SATA one with more disc space and you don't lose your warranty.

Compatible 1.5 TB HDDs are already available, 2 TB will come soon, 3 - 4 TB in the next years.

Support for (cheap) external 3.5''-HDDs would be a great addition, but the lack is not a weakness of the PS4. Microsoft doesn't allow the changing of XBO-HDDs and WiiU has to live with the limited bandwith of USB2.0 for external drives... PS4 + XBO could reach much higher data rates if they eventually support external drives.

I only see that happening because the most trust-worthy analyst on Earth ( Michael Pachter) predict that Nintendo would go 3rd party.

Blu-ray 3D suppport will come sooner than later... Sony profits when people buy Blu-ray 3Ds (which are much more expensive than DVDs and 2D-Blu-rays), so it will have a high priority.

Stereoscopic gaming is already possible, Trine 2 supports it and it looks great. If they use side-by-side (common for 3D-TVs with light polarisation glasses instead of heavier and expensive shutter-glasses), the PS4 would have to render 2x960x1080 instead of 1x1920x1080, so the computing power required would be the same.

The main problem with stereoscopic gaming is, that special effects (shadow maps, light sources, fog, god rays, HUD placement...) have to be accurately implemented to work in 3D and most developers don't take the time for that. But for console games, the developers would have to thorougly implement these effects themselves like they do it for 3DS games.

As a PS4 owner i must say the big let down could be Multiplayer Action-PS Exclusives are known for their quality, but for the best Online Experience you'll have on Xbox- I mean God of War, Uncharted, TLOU, Infamous, Knack, The Order are or will not stand out for its MP in Comparison to Halo, Gears, Titanfall, Left4Dead ... Yeah please don't bring Killzone to the Table. I still don't get the Point this should be next Generation why are there so few Games with 4 player Coop - the best fun so far I head playing a Legendary 4 Player Halo Campaign, Gears 4 Player on Insane or L4D Four Player - so today I am not very impressed with my PS4 and so aren't my buddies on PSN - I mean I was so stupid to early adapt and now I'm sitting here with Knack (lousy 2 player Coop) and KZSF's annoying Dropship after Dropship Action and stupid AI which pisses me off, coz People should the F_ck understand it's the F_ck not about Graphics -next gen should be defined by AI and realistic behaviour. And there's NO - not a single freaking step from PS3 - but yeah don't stop wank_ng about how great PS4 is. I stopped w_nking the minute I recognised it couldn't read BlueRay without update - Gosh Guys

B/c is a thing of the past with PS Now. I can't fathom why PS4 doesn't have 3D support so I assume it's coming, though I personally don't care because I don't have a 3D TV and never will.
