Forums - Microsoft Discussion - March 11th Turnaround? (Titanfall, Price cut, Twitch Streaming, Party Chat)

Seems MS is going all out for Titanfall, they want and need this to be big. Can we see a turnaround here? No I'm not talking about beating PS4, but having a better baseline and sheding some of the negativity attached to it?

It makes me mad because I can't troll it as hard if it gets a permanent $100 price cut. $100 more for weaker hardware.. etc.. etc... I can still troll it for forcing Kinect on me, though. So, all is not lost.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

Possibly in US and UK they could gain traction, outside of those markets I do not see a major shift happening.

Do we even have a baseline yet?

With a worldwide pricecut along with Titanfall and the other games, I can see the baseline improving to say, 60-70k per Week if we assume its currently at a ~45k baseline.

No. That titanic is already sunk. Throwing a couple deck chairs off won't save it.

Well I cant see any reason why someone looking to move to next gen wouldn't happily chose the ONE looking at the situation as it stands right now.

This will change of course over time, but as of right now the ONE looks like a better bet to me. Garden warfare and Titanfall alone should be a decent draw for people.

A better bet then what, specifically?  Because the op stated it wasn't about PS4 but rather negativity and base line.

Titanfall will provide a boost, but I don't think it'll increase the baseline much. If it's doing 45k or so today, it'll do 60k maybe, which isn't really saying much. Only thing that will do something is a price cut and even that won't really increase numbers in Europe much (outside of maybe the UK).  See: Wii U.

hard to imagine it not helping.

xbone needs to hit about 75k week one and then maintain 50k weekly in the US if it is to stop losing ground to the 360. i would think that is manageable.

Yes, I second this... Also to me until there is major price cuts worldwide for xbox one, MS is not really competing. It looks like they are heading in the right direction though. No doubt.

Praise the One.

I used to believe that as well, until we got last month's NPD's. It seems unlikely that the Xbox One will overtake the PS4 in March or anytime this year tbh.
