Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dispelling the myth: Vita haz no gaemz (24+ beg to differ) [challenging the boundaries of what counts as a "game"!]

I know this thread will be completely ignored, and the Status Quo will continue that the Vita is a handheld with no games that make it worth even contemplating buying. However, I thought I'd compile a selection of 24 games which form a very nicely rounded selection of high quality exclusives and "finest in class" handheld versions of multi platform titles. (note that the likes of Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty are missing)

It has dawned on me, that this selection completely neglects the 1v1 2D/3D beat em up genre, which is also amply well recognised in the Vita lineup (Blazblue, Mortal Kombat, Injustice, etc.) however I think this selection of titles represents a fantastic well rounded selection of games which would appeal to most gamers. I can't help but think there is a general ignorance about the games which are available on the system.

Anyway, yeah, the system is doomed, and it lacks big name exclusive IPs, but if you're a gamer, does "big name" really matter? Anyway, feel free to tear the games in the following pic apart, but if there isn't something to reach out to you and make you think yeah, I'd like a Vita, I wouldn't say you're as big on gaming as you might think :p

There were a good fair few other titles I wanted to include, but I was trying to keeping down to a smaller number.

It's a futile effort my friend.

Oh I know. But what the hell?! Haha :D

If other people now join in and ask why I didn't include game X, Y or Z that's a small victory :D

Where are the big exclusives? Vita haz no gaemz.

The question is.. why do you have price tags on them? Aren't your games shrinkwrapped?

It's useless, people will be thinking vita has no games unless they try the system, so... never.

I don't think anything can 'save' the Vita at this point, the market for it has shrunk and it doesn't have enough mainstream games.

But if you have a wide range of gaming tastes and enjoy trying new series the system is amazing. You just need to know where to look.

Where are you getting all these games? I have none for my Vita collection.

Also, this thread won't go unnoticed. People will look at the title an be like, "WTF?! I've gotta see this!"

Nail on head, why does "big" matter? Tearaway is no worse a game because it doesn't have 3 prequels.

That said:

WipeOut
KillZone
Sly Cooper
FIFA
Need for Speed
Uncharted
Lumines
Persona
Rayman
Sonic
(plus Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed etc)

Aren't exactly unknown frachises.

I want to try debunk the myth on a game quality perspective, rather than a "IP size" angle. It won't do much, but it might actually show on the fence(ers) that there's more than they realise on the system. Remembering that this is purely physical titles and doesn't include the wealth of awesome digital only content.
