Yeap... I remember that... Thuway leaked that info in November.

Why did you put this in Sony discussion? Anyway, I remember that thuway also said the Xbox One would be receiving a 10% performance boost in it's first update, that was earlier this month I think.

EPIC FAIL!!!!

I always received a error because I forgot to choose the forum but now I just posted and it put in the Sony... I didn't choose forum at all... weird.

I will ask for some Mod to change.

I'll just nip this in the bud right now.
This 8% bump isn't going to mean the difference between averages of 30 and averages of 60, or 720p and 1080p, its just going to help games like dead rising 3 by helping it reach 30fps more often (though even with the increase it still won't be close to 30fps locked.

You are of course welcome to churn out silly numbers and comparisons and flail around however please keep in mind if the rumor turns out to be true and the change is made, its not going to impact performance any where near as some of you may hope.

What I don't understand is why the Xbox One would have a GPU reserve for voice, even if it's only 2%. Wouldn't voice be ran on the CPU normally? Voice has nothing to do with graphics whatsoever.

If this rumor is true, it's probably for the best, I can't see that many people taking Skype video calls while playing games anyways, and they can still take Skype voice calls. An extra 8% power should ensure that the Xbox One runs at the same resolution as the PS4 but at a lower FPS, or at a slightly lower resolution and the same fps, which is good enough for me and most Xbox gamers I imagine.

Kinect didn't process the audo data that come from the capture... so the system needs to to that... most part of that processing is done by Share (the audio chip) but some part is needed to be done by CPU or GPGPU... MS choose to use 2% of the GPU for that because I guess it used a lot more from CPU.

I think it is for good too but some buys snap Skype... so they play while see the video of the other guy in the part of the screen.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the 2% of the GPU doing with "voice"?

EDIT: nm... too late.

I still find it odd the GPU is processing voice data though.

Hmm coming from famousmortimer so I believe it, still as long as devs use the additional power of the PS4 (which happily seems to be the case at the moment) I don't care what happens with the Xbone's power.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
