Forums - Gaming Discussion - Two Main Reasons I get for why to get XBox One....

MY BIGGEST REASON:

Controller preference. I am 6'5 and fairly big. can you palm a basketball? well that is nothing for me. 10 minutes with a ps3 controller and my hands are cramped up. It hardly makes it a choice. I even tried ps3 controllers designed to feel like 360 controllers but they all felt too damn cheap.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

and that's also my two main reason why i never buy XB console, cause i never had it before and all my friends didn't too...

Same here, Dualshock 1-3 are just so uncomfortable for me.

Sounds to me i wouldnt want to shop for you. That kind of stuff is annoying honestly and it sounds like your opinion is the only right one in your head. Just let people buy what they want.

Of course MY opinon is ithe only right one in my head, thats how I came to that opinion.

I am not telling people what they should buy, I find customers are far happier if you let them come to that conclusion on their own. I just wish they would use stronger logic into their purchases. I do personally believe saying "thats what my friends have" is an excuse to not think for yourself, like a lemming.

Ridiculous logic. If buying the same console as their friends is a priority they must enjoy playing games with their friends. The games they enjoy must be multiplat as well.

If Sony was doing anything that actually impressed them, they might opt for the PS4 instead. But clearly that isn't the case for everyone.

I don't mind them to be honest. I can play Fifa for a while on my mates PS3, I do eventually get cramps or something though. The "handles" only reach into my fingers and the controller just doesn't rest in my hand or palm like other controllers do. Yet, when I was younger and my hands were smaller, I was fine. I'm only 5'11-6'0.

We probably shouldn't turn this into a controller fight though, someone will find a way to disagree with our life experiences somehow.

Hmm

track record: 2 disk read error ps2's for me one rrod xbox 360 so My experience MS gets the reliability nod considering there is no problems I know of that affected the original xbox. But ps2 and ps both had common well documented problems.

I think long and hard about would I buy as well...........

I would fire you by the way if you told customers to get the ps4 and made attempts to sell the x1 as a bad buy. from a business standpoint you want to move the most expensive stuff, that said I do think it's good to be knowledgeable and communicate with customers. I hate when I go to a game store and I know more about the shit they are selling than they do.

Well I'm a manager there and no rookie at customer service. I never push customers to  buy anything, rather help them come to the conclusion of what best suits them. I give them pros and cons of their choices and let them decide. Selling the higher ticket item all the time simply because it makes the store more money is bad business for many reasons.  Gamestop makes no money on brand new consoles anyway so as far as Gamestop is concerned they are worth exactly the same. If anything, the fact that the PS4 is 100 cheaper would mean that 100 bucks more you could spend on a game or accessory that GStop DOES make a profit on.

I'm not going to defend Gamestop's employee base because well....some of them just suck. They either kno nothing other than what marketing tells them to push, or they simply don't care enough at all most times. I try not to fall into these tropes. This is why I am known for forming regulars at whichever store I am at and praised for my customer service on a regular basis.

And telling a customer the truth about your opinion on products(when they ask you) should not be frowned upon. There is nothing I hate more than disengenuous ppl when you ask for an honest opinion between two products and they take the easy way out "They both would be fine". That kind of answer does not actually help customers make a good decision and might end up leaving empty handed. Don't tell them what to do, just give them the facts and let them go from there.

I get you, if they ask. I have seen some pushy guys that insist what you should buy without asking. Was just assuming you might have fallen into that categorey. If they are asking then by all means it's better to answer as a human than an expensive item selling drone.

buying a system simply because that is what your friends are getting doesn't make sense because if that is the only basis then they could do the same by getting the other and saving money while they do it. It seems to be less so that Sony doesn't impress them and more so that they are complacent in a stationary position even when the rules are changing around them. Like I described in the OP, they usually are very much so interested in PS4, but the need to do what everyone else is doing is what shackles them. I just don't believe that is reason enough to do anything, let alone spend 500bucks.

Its still not a sensible argument, no matter which side uses it. You should really be factoring in something of substance such as the types of games you like, the kind of experience you want from the console, etc.
