Forums - Website Topics - A 'like' button

Tagged games:

I was browsing the chartz today and I seen a few funny posts which aren't worth me risking a ban from smeggs for commenting 'lol' or something...so I found myself wanting a like button. A like button on posts would be a brilliant feature. No dislike button, just a like button and you can see the users who like something. These forums have always felt like there's been something missing and this is it! It would also reduce spam from people just quoting someone saying 'lol' etc...and perhaps encourage users to post more interesting/insightful/funny posts in the pursuit of likes.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I'd rather we just have a dislike button.

Same lol

I would love that. Just a little way to say, "I agree," or "That's funny," without posting a whole stupid reply.

A like button would encourage shallowness and sensationalism rather than genuine communication. This would actually increase spam posts as people post just to be impressive instead of trying to connect with another person. It's also not going to encourage a good user to make more high-quality posts, because if the person were already making high-quality posts, he would already know it. And lastly, here's my main point: Any idea for change by main-bear-pig should be passionately oppressed (remember how he changed avatars?). Nuff said.

idk, i think xbo peeps would not benefit much from that. Its bad enough from the little attention that is given to positive xbo articles as it is.... and vita for that matter.

i dont really care either way, i might if i gave a damn what others thought.

My thoughts exactly. Like buttons and Internet speak like "lol" and "rofl" are the worst things to happen to communication since the Dirty South took over the rap industry.

Please a "love" button instead... "like" is so weak for my egocentrism.

take my like.

also I want a dislike button, so people know their comment sucks
