EA are just giving the game away so they can justify their unprecedented support to the board lol. They will cliam these as sales no doubt about it.

M$ are almost certainly buying it from them, so they should definitely count it as actual sales.

Anyway, i think it it a very good move. The problem is most hardcore fans get twitchy by the start of October. If I was on the fence, I can see how it would push the decision towards the Xbox One. With prices for games likely to be ~£45 a PS4 + FIFA 14 will probably come to £395, ie £35 cheaper than the Xbox One. For people who have existing gold subscriptions you can see how this might encourage them to stay on "the same team"

Very true and in these coming months is when it's all going to matter. MS has to advertise right and make the right moves. I think so far they are hitting it out of the park. If they keep it up, they will have people making the jump off that fence. They have to keep it coming.

No i don't think it will do anything more than a small boost

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

No but it will help them a bit

Serious fans can get there typical Fifa experience cheaper with the PS4 despite the game coming free to Xbox One

The typical Fifa fan probably wont care or go crazy over a camera pumping up the price

I guess it depends on if they want the exclusive legends content that comes with Xbox One but even that will eventually come to PS4

How do you know this? Or is this just hope?

There won't be any difference at all. Ps4 will continue to grow

None at all? really?

I'm going to speak on behalve of the Belgian and Dutch market. Even if the releasedate of both consoles were on the same day then hardly anybody will get the Xbox one. Everyone is pre-ordering massively the PS4 and I think that half of the people will place there pre-order within the next weeks. All my PS friends are going to pre-order know since the releasedate has been given. Xbox One won't do any good here when it launches March 2014 because I have never seen any console get this much attention in stores and by people here. Xbox One is a question mark for now.

In the UK I think it will benefit a couple of 10k sales gamewise but I doubt it will move any consoles. Especially if Microsoft can't reach the launchdate.

Nope, it won't, unless they want to wait to play the game until spring, but I think if they are willing to wait, they are already convinced to get the Xbone.

So you think everyone buys games day one and why would they wait until spring?  didn't you mean winter?

As Kratos already pointed out. This will be available in selected markets, partially as a sort of an "apology" for the late launch. For example, in my country the biggest gaming site speculated that the Xbone will be available as soon as spring, maybe even as late as May-June. That's a big middle finger to the Polish gamers and I don't think Fifa will convince anyone but the already convinced to wait that long.

In the EU people waited a whole year for the PS3, if you want to talk about a middle finger but most of the people over there forgave Sony pretty quick.  I believe people will be able to do the same if the X1 has the game and features you want.  If it truly releases that late then you just have a better time evaluating if the console has what you want much better.

Lol no, they have not waited a year since PS3' launch was not intended to release in 2005 like the Xbox, so it wasn't a middle finger, MS now chooses to delay the Polish launch, theywaited almost 5 months though, that combined with a price advantage was in my opinion a significant reason why 360 was a success in Europe.

PS. And instead of evaluating, I would rather do what I enjoy, so playing games on my PS4.

Whether the PS3 was suppose to release in 2005 is not the question.  It released in the US and Japan first then released 5months later in the EU.  In other words, Sony did not respect the EU market more than Japan and the US but you still forgave Sony.  This is fact you can pretty much look it up.  PS3 released March 23 2007 in EU while it released in Japan November 10 2006 and US the 17th.  MS on the other hand released in EU, Japan and US at the same time treating EU has an equal.

PS.  As a gamer, I would buy the system with the games I want.  Whether its PS4, X1, PS3, Vita, DS, PC, Ipad you name it.  I do not care about the fanboy, corporation love.  What I care about is games and if a system has the games I want, it will see my money.

Read my answer again, that's exactly what I said, they had to wait 5 months, you started with saying they had to wait a year. And we don't know who forgave Sony and who did not want to wait and got a 360. I didn't have to forgive anyone since I wasn't big on gaming and probably didn't even know when the PS3 is launching and where, until I bought a PS3 in 2011.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I can only go by sells and the PS3 when it launch in EU outsold the 360 from start and never looked back even when it was at a much higher price. Anyway, what I am trying to say is that people are easy to forgive if they see something they want.  A lot of people do not purchase a game at launch if that was the case then these consoles would be selling out every year.  This is a long race where both companies will have a chance to offer gamers games they feel they need the sysem for.  Launch only makes up a very small window to the lifecycle for these consoles.

Nope.

PS4 with FIFA is still cheaper.

Xbox with FIFA is not the same as FIFA with PS4 which makes this argument pretty stupid. Not you Carl2291

And the PS4 alone is a totally different thing to an Xbox One alone.

The fact remains, you can get FIFA with your PS4 for a whole lot less. Football in general still sells more on PS.

It will help a little, but it will be irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

I give up- MS will win Europe because they are giving away FIFA free to those who per ordered the Xbox. As if we've never seen a bundle before.

Most bundles have a slightly increased price and mostly offer first party games. But I remember a Fifa 13 bundle for the crappy ps3-superslim-version sold in UK.

However kinect is way worth the extra $40.

To write off kinect 2.0 is being intellectually dishonest.

If someone makes their console choice depeding on a free or not free copy of fifa, they do not care about kinect.
