Forums - Movies & TV - Kick Ass 2 getting destroyed by critics

I thought the first one was somewhat of a stupid, but fun mindless action movie. I'll probably just rent it when it comes out on video. I never put to much stock in what movie critics say. If it's not some indie movie that has some deep meaning, then they'll usually hate it. I love mindless action movies and horror movies and the critics hate those movies most of the time. hahahahaha!!!!!!!

Critics wouldn't like this film, I don't think. I thought it was enjoyable but that's just it. A bit more teen angst than I expected.

Hmm, pie.

First one was massively overrated. Not surprised that KA2 is getting ripped.

It's score on IMDB, 7.5, isn't that bad anyway. I find IMDB scores for movies a lot more reliable mostly.

Have seen it and absolutely loved it. I think some critics just automatically doom films before they have seen them, they watch it with their mind already made up

kickass was pretty bad the only reason it got so much hype is because it was making fun of other superhero movies other than that the movie was staled

Really, volume 1 of Kickass's comic was about the greatest thing ever.  The movie couldn't dim alll of that.  The tone went from cynical to goofy, Big Daddy got set on fire instead of being shot in the face (trust me, the face shooting would have been more shocking), Kick Ass didn't have his hero moment, Red Mist got revealed almost instantly, instead of as a surprise twist, Dave actually got the girl instead of getting beat up by her black boyfriend (who then sent pics of his GF sucking his dick--to which Dave masturbated to), and a ton of other differences that weren't for the best.  Worst of all was the jetpack/rocket launcher scene.  The movie just couldn't stifle the original source material's charm.

Kickass 2's comic was much more of a mess.  Lots of shocking stuff just for the sake of being shocking.  People die, get raped, decapitated, etc.  It's pretty insane but at the end of the day, not very satisfying.

Ever see "Super"?  If you like Kick-Ass it might interest you for a darker more realistic depiction of custome heroes.

I freaking loved it, it was a perfect "popcorn movie"

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
