Forums - Movies & TV - Kick Ass 2 getting destroyed by critics

I thought it was pretty great, actually. Touching in parts, mostly extremely brutal and violent, the story isn't half bad, and Hit Girl steals the show yet again.

And I didn't even notice Jim Carrey was in it until I checked IMDB afterwards. He doesn't look like Jim Carrey at all.

I have no idea, I do not have Netflix.  Here is some information.

Cast overview, first billed only:
Rainn Wilson ...
Ellen Page ...
Liv Tyler ...
Kevin Bacon ...

Oh, it's on Netflix.  I'm about halfway through it.  It's pretty great.

Happy to hear it, thought you would as it has some dark and shocking moments.

I thought it was enjoyable. Not as much as the first one, though.

4 ≈ One

Just saw it for my self, not nearly as good as the first. It was funny at parts though, others it looked like it was cheaply made. Characters die, and no one gives a shit. And that shaky camera needs to stop. I thought the scene with the throw up and other shiz(hehe) was just gross and weird, didnt make me laugh

Hit Girl was cool once again though

aw man I loved the first one and was hoping for a good sequel :/

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I saw the movie and it is not that bad. It definitely doesn't deserve 29% on RT, thats crazy! I think releasing late summer worked against it because critics are no longer in the mood for this kind of movie.

Kick Ass 2 is actually my second most enjoyable movie I've seen so far this summer, number one would be star trek 2. However this movie suffers from a similar problem as star trek, the first one was so good that the second just can't live up to it. Kick Ass 2 was just good, and that is enough to disappoint when the original was great. Its hard to really put my finger on whats wrong with it, the movie feels tonally confusing in parts, whereas the first kick ass just seemed to work. Still a decent movie for the action scenes alone.
