Ahhhh. I see now. This is all a ploy to drive traffic to the site where you wrote the "article".

Read your article, in full. Needs work, it's a little high school ish.

Also read the comments. You are very uninformed.

"Nintendo would never do this and probably Sony wouldn't either". Right, and there we have it.

You then admit you didn't even know about the root kit scandal, you admit the delay in revealing the Sony outage was bad but they probably wouldn't do this? Isn't Facebook integration a part of "share" on the PS4? Good luck with that.

I wrote the comment about the Sony outage before the one about the rootkit scandal. My whole...."wouldn't do this" is based on what Microsoft specifically has done, with the whole....willingly providing backdoors around their security that is there to give people a sense of privacy.

There's no need to attack my credibility or my article. It comes off as childish and petty. I never once claimed I was a professional journalist or that "OMG I'M THE BEST WRITER EVER." It's an opinion article....hence the blog-post type feel. It was meant to spur discussion on the topic, nothing more so leave the personal attacks out of it.

Your op should say that you are linking to a blog that you wrote. That you are quoting a blog that you wrote for another website.

by the way, you don't know what a disclaimer is.

Your reaction to my critique is what actually comes off as childish.  if you can't take critical evaluation, then don't write public domain articles.

I included the disclaimer I did so people wouldn't think I'm some Sony fanboy who wants Microsoft to fail or some other crap. I was formally refusing to accept any interest in what the outcome of the news has on Microsoft as a company....to play off of the dictionary definition of a disclaimer. My OP said exactly what it needed to...that it is an opinion article concerning Microsoft's involvement in the NSA scandal and their reversal on the DRM issues. Whether you think it is a blog or an opnion article is irrelevant as the line is becoming increasingly blurred.

"Why are we debating a second rate article from an amateur journalist?" is hardly a "critical evaluation" or any sort of critique. Discuss the content, not me or my presentation of it.

Yep!
I trust microsoft not to murder me. Not to hack into my bank account and steal money! Not to take away my access to games for no reason!

I also trust them to be a corporate giant and operate in the same way that 99.9% of corporate giants do. That includes co-operating with government behind the scenes(not anymore). This doesn't change my relation with them, because I don't really have one.

Same with sony. My allegiance is with developers and key playstation staff and their mandra towards game. Not the corporation as a whole. Also things like this are definitely wrong, but they don't actually worry me. I don't believe they've been watching all my skype calls and reading all my FB post and if they have, what a bloody waste of their time lol.

But its definitely a breach of our rights and trust.

nothing really news worthy here..... they pretty much acted like any company, did a mistake in the public opinion eye and backtracked on it because retail partners were siding with the public.....

pretty standard procedure.... it's pretty much similar to what happen to Netflix when they tried to split DVD rental and streaming service....

now yeah they irremediably lost some customer in the hardcore gaming crowd.... but in 4 months time news outlet will have more important stuff to do and the mass market that is not really involved (the majority actually) will have forgotten or even never heard about it....

they survived the RRoD fiasco and that was more wide spread in the news and in mass market knowledge and lasted longer than a "bad" policy they actually reversed within a couple weeks four months before launch.....

so yeah they'll be on the black list of some game enthusiast people, but it's like that with pretty much any big company.... me I don't trust or buy certain companies product on personal opinion like google, apple, sony, bose, b&o and some telecommunication companies.... it doesn't make them any less successful and I actually think it's a good think it's a good thing for companies I do trust, like and buy because it creates competition and push them to innovate and stay competitive.... there is nothing new here.... it's like that in every market some people gonna hate other gonna love and some really don't care (the majority doesn't care)

You all better turn your phones off and never use your computer. ALL phone calls are monitored as is ALL Internet traffic. You are being monitored 100% of the time.

Didn't people know this?

Makes me laugh how that idiot scrambling around for political asylum ruined his life to tell us something we already knew unless we were incredibly naive.

I was thinking the same thing. Besides i highly doubt Microsoft has any malicious intent, they are just another company wanting to make money. It is not like they are skynet making terminators and shit.

oh and the NSA thing is really nothing new.... intelligence agency are doing the same in every country since the inception of intelligence agency and corporation have to comply by law in most cases.... so beside being big sellers for the news outlet this information is pretty much old news and not surprising at all....

you would have asked me 3 years ago if I think gov agencies source information in the corporate world I would have answered yeas without a doubt.... how do you think they get bad guys in general.... they have logs of the guy, bank information, telecommunication recording, travel plans, etc....

they just ask those information to the service providers.... nothing new here....

No we can't trust them but i don't think we should any other major companies either. They probably all do the same thing. Anything for money

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

'When the people are being beaten with a stick, they are not much happier if it is called the people's stick'- Mikhail Bakunin

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Agreed
which is pretty much what is expected from a company.... I'm currently working on creating my own company I don't do it just for fun, the main reason is to make money.... and I'll do everything I can to optimize my revenues and profit in the boundaries of the law....
I don't see what's wrong about that.... I'll probably make mistakes and will have to change some stuff along the way but it is pretty much how it is for any business and any business owner....

Oh just a average Xbox Fanboy.

You know its funny how the tables turn. since 2006 - 2013 PS3 has been the shit of all shit, at least in the public of gaming where FACTS are not needed and Rumors can be used. Xbox Fanboys hashed at PS3 all the time no matter what. we gave facts we yelled screamed, but you motherfuckers didnt listen.

Now that the Xbox seems a little untrustworthy. You Xbox Dicks just say HEY IS WAS A LITTLE MESS UP GET OVER IT.

Ya what was your respose when PSN got Hacked, YOU FUCKING IDIOTS WHY WOULD YOU GO TO PLAYSTATION.  people after DRM shit with XB1, WHO THE FUCK WOULD BUY A XB1, IF YOU DO YOUR A DISGRACE TO GAMING.

See i hope Micrsoft and the XB1 fail, so you fucking dicks can be put to rest :) oh and the only difference of your complaining and our complaining is that we used FACTS and you dont DICKS.

lol ban incoming in 10, 9, 8,7, 6, 5.......

man I hope you guys don't acknowledge that fan base in the PS camp....

Curtis I buy what I want thk you very much and I don't need approbation from the community, my peers or anyone.... always thought PS wasn't for me and never liked sony and that will probably never change in the foreseeable future....

and i'm going DD only so the DRM policy has always been a moot point for me.... I'm looking for an entertainment device that will be enjoyed by me my friends and my family for a wide range of entertainment activities which is exactly what XB1 is offering to me.... if you prefer PS4 and just straight gaming good for you and enjoy your purchase.... but I really hope for your fellow PS fans that you don't behave like that on the PSN....
