Forums - Microsoft - Can we trust Microsoft anymore?

The only way to have the NSA not get your data is to not use the internet. Besides the NSA, other companies sell all of your data too. Google, Apple, they aren't any better. Which companies can you trust? Verizon? No. It comes down to companies are too scared of the government, people are too scared of the government. We have given the government too much freedom and too much money.

MS never commented on rumors in the past, why would they start with the last waves of rumors. They did things as I expected they would, the only thing they did I didn't expect was give into internet pressure. I am sad they did. I was excited for the xbox one. With them going back on what it was going to be I am no longer excited.

We get it already ms is the devil. Sony is god. give it a rest already

Has absolutely nothing to do with Sony, open your eyes and take off the blinders.

I coukd care less but since this at least the 5tg thread about the same subject Its getting annoying

Only relevant part of the article to me:

"It may sound like a conspiracy theory"

It sounds like one because that's exactly what it is. It's just another long winded "MS is going to record everything you do!!1!" paranoia piece.

To answer the question asked in the thread title, of course. I have been a MS customer for decades thanks to Windows and other products and they have never did anything to make me not trust them. Not that I really "trust" any company anyway. They are there to get money from you, nothing more.

On the other hand both SEGA and Sony have done things just in the gaming world that makes me hesitant to "trust" them.

After reading that article, I don't see why ANYONE would trust Kinect 2.0 at this point, like seriously.

Disappointing but not surprising.

Holy Moly.

This NSA shit need to stop. I’m not attacking you specifically it’s just a message I want to say to everyone who reads that article and goes crazy with it. The Government spying on its citizens isn’t something new, it’s been proven/theorized w.e for countless years. Now that the truth came out who can honestly say they are genuinely surprised? hmm? right.

MS is not the bad guy, anyone who thinks a MS can oppose government intervention is a fucking idiot. MS is an American based corporation which means it fall under American jurisdiction. They have no choice but to cooperate just like Google and Apple.

As for people who will say the Xbox actually turned out to really be a spy box. You think the ps4 will be safe? As long as it is connected online you will be spied on. Which leads to another thing our god dam ISPs have been spying on all our asses for years same with our cellphone providers. Don't get me wrong I do not like it and I'm defending it but what are we supposed to do?

There's that word again....trust

Do you trust your insurance company?

We're talking about business. They provide a service, and try to sell you on it's value. You can decide for yourself if that service seems worthwhile to you. And as for this whole "spying" thing, be it kinect, Skype, your smartphone, or whatever.....in the world we live in, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if government organisations are actually tapped in to just about everything, and can have access to whatever info they want. Thing is though, I'm not that interesting that they will particularly care about anything I do. I doubt you are. I doubt anyone here is.

People panic about their privacy so much, but don't even realise how precious little of it you have anyway in today's world. It's an idea. We live in the digital age. Anyone who really wants to access your info can find a way to do so, and it wouldn't even be that much trouble.

If your privacy is such a huge issue for you, I suggest you never connect to the internet, throw away every device capable of it, and cut all ties with anyone else who makes use of it.

Never vote for any tax increase. Vote for a smaller fed governemnt, and more statee control. But I agree with you. All this hoopla over kinect, while we all carry allways on, always connected, gps enabled, microphones with camera devices in our pockets all day long.

I don't trust any enterprise. I just prefer Xbox over Playstation. Simple like this.

I don't trust anyone or anything! lol
