Following quotes are apparently from the new game informer. I guess at least they are honest and no BS PR. I do have to say that even GI talks about the wiiu as not a next gen console. I mean I get why devs etc would do it from a tech point of view but don't think the media should do it.

Not Wii U. With other companies, I've been very successful with Nintendo. With Wii U, the Nintendo market right now and their audience is not who we reach best. It's not something we're entertaining in the near or foreseeable future.

Playstation 4 and the next Xbox are coming soon. What is your strategy for those two?

I would safely say that you'll see us there, but not on the first day. It's the same reason, the pioneer versus the settler...being there on the first day, that's for the big boys.

I think people are reading too much into this stuff. WiiU is only one launched, as such its called out by name. Then since his first answer didn't address the rest of next-gen, they repeated the question directly for them. Then he said in that answer "...but not on the first day. It's the same reason...", which means they aren't on any new console for all the same reasons.

Its not a slam on Nintendo or MSony. Its simply a way they do business. They wait for the userbase to build up. They are small and really can't take big risks.

Title is wrong too. It should be no "Next-gen games planned right now".

They published Purr Pals, Get Fit With Mel B and Horse Life Adventures on the Wii among other great games last gen. Nintendo is screwed.

@ Mugen, you don't think that's a bit of a misleading title. What they said is that they don't like being on any console at release, they'd rather wait until it has a bigger userbase. The WiiU gets a lot of mention despite the fact that it isn't in a different situation to the other 2.

I think the "next gen or Wii U" phrasing is just to separate what is out now and what has yet to be launched. I don't think it's saying that the Wii U doesn't belong with the PS4 or 720. Besides, the whole debate about which generation a console belongs to is kind of meaningless. It's an arbitrary tag that carries very little actual relevance. Most people couldn't care less about 7th gen or 8th gen or whatever.

As far as Deep Silver goes, I think they're saying most of their titles wouldn't sell very well on the Wii U so they're going to avoid it unless there are signs of change. Probably as simple as that.

See, these guys are actually humble enough to admit their position and not feed as regurgitated PR bullcrap. They understand that being there at launch is for the big publishers to do and they are relatively small, so they'll release stuff once the install base is large enough for them to make enough profit from their games.

I like deep silver. I hope they find success. Dead Island might help them do so.

How is it misleading exactly? I actually changed the title from wiiu AND next gen consoles since I don't think it's fair to not call wiiu next gen by a media outlet. They are basically saying no games from them now OR in the forseeable future. With PS4/720 not on day one but eventually..aka they will but not at the start

and I'm not saying the dev is slamming the wiiu..they are honest and to the point. I like and appreciate that..no pr nonsense like it did not meet our visionary bla bla bla etc. I do think there's an undertone to the way the question was presented to them ...and I'm speaking 'against' it. I'm not going after ninty..I'm taking it's side
