I agree that it's probably not going to completely demolish her career, but it would be a huge liability. Even if the community doesn't get pissed off enough, I'm sure the Media would inflate it for the ratings.

hmm, read further for what? My grasp? I don't understand, because it seems like to me the nature of perception is that we all don't share the same one. To each his own.

I'm not sure exactly where your comment lies, but if you're referring to my 'depiction' of the Republican party, that is not necessarily my own, that is what the LGBT community will quickly describe the Republican party as. I don't look at the Republican party in an entirely negative light, as I tend to vote Republican on many issues. But... if I were a homosexual or transexual, I would not be happy to be part of a party whose members regularly turn negatively against the group I am apart of. I have yet to know a single member of LGBT community that votes Republican... that's just my experience in the matter.

Sorry to break it to you, mate, but that's far from the case. Madonna just became a billionaire after a few decades of touring and far better album sales. Hell, even Britney has been on the spotlight for more than a decade and forbes claim that she has a little over 100m. If you take into account tour expenses, taxes, daily expenses etc, they make far less than it seems. 

I'm talking about Brand Gaga not her herself. 

In that case, I stand corrected.

Against gay marriage sure. I can see that, but I haven't seen any party attempts to remove the voice of gays. In fact, I'm pretty sure the party leaves the group alone.

That's a pretty bad analogy. Up until last year, the Democratic party didn't support gay marriage. That didn't stop anyone earlier. Also, there are gay Republicans. I know you may find it hard to believe, but they exist.

I do believe she would have been shunned in a similar way, that's all I'm saying. There's no use arguing over that since neither of us will ever know who's right (unless she somehow backs the next Republican presidential candidate).

While we may never know for sure, I'm pretty confident that you're right. It might not have been a career-ending backlash or anything, but it almost certainly would have existed.
