I guess Iwata was right, he is not letting the Wii U have the same start as the 3DS...its actually worse.

lol, brilliant.

They need a cut and/or exclusives pretty damn soon.

Just for reference, this Wii U number is lower than the PS3 did it's first January during its first week, so the Wii U is starting to develop a disturbing trend of posting sub-PS3 numbers when it was that ridiculous launch price still in 2006/07.

Lower first December than the PS3 in North America too in NPD. That's not a good sign.

Wii of course was still hot selling 90k+ this week in 2007 in Japan.

the wii u will be killed off by 2014. its just not selling and its only 299$, not being able to sell so soon after launch indicates that nintendo fans have moved on, it basically has no fanbase.

You know that I am writing down everything you are saying on WiiU and waiting for PS4 to be out right?

Only $299 why don't you go and tell this to the average man on the street? Have you have heard of world crisis? Shops are closing down, and living is getting very hard if you think that the masses have still teh same money they did back in 2006/2007 for Wii you are wrong.

I agree with you that Xb360 and PS3 have more fan hard-core fan that what Wii did but...

Let's see LT sales of course it probably will be out of production by 2014 so let's wait the end of the year shall we?

Why just the PS4?

Honestly I think Nintendo may have to bite the bullet and give the Wii U a similar price cut as the 3DS got. I don't believe this is something just showing off a Zelda or Smash Bros. trailer will solve.

$80 reduction for Black Nintendo Land bundle ($269.99)

New White Model w/Wii Fit U + Balance Board bundled (fitness pak, $299.99)

Ambassador program for early Wii U adopters, free Xenoblade HD, Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Super Mario Galaxy HD,
Mario Kart 64 HD, etc.

With a weakening yen it may not hurt their financials as badly, but they also may balk at basically having another year of losses. Iwata could be in some trouble IMO.

Don't think they'll give Wii games. GC games probably.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Starting to feel like the Wii U is overpriced at $300, which is odd because I got my Wii for $400 back in the day. MK and Smash Bros will most likely make sales spike.

Thats the thing, I believe people look at the msrp of the Wii U and say its overpriced, but I vividly remember wii bundles being force upon the consumer as retailers would not sell standalone wii, at least in the US.  My wii came to 350 with these crappy accessories and games no one wanted.

Wii U does the same as the Vita, even the sales.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

As I said last week, now is the time to be announcing games.

There are far too many studios at Nintendo with "unannounced title" as their current project.

VGChartz

It'll be nice to get a good Wii U focused Nintendo Direct.

But honestly, I don't think game announcements actually cause sales spikes. Unless they are sitting on something massive like Final Fantasy XV being exclusive or something, I can't really even see a console comparison to getting Monster Hunter exclusive for 3DS.

Like it would have to be something huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

Showing off Mario Kart U, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, etc. will soothe some concerns, but I doubt it causes a huge sales spike.

That said, at this point every bit helps. They should go ahead and have a big Nintendo Direct this month and show off Bayonetta 2, Monolith's RPG, more on Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101, then another Direct in Feburary or March showing off Mario Kart U.

Save 3D Mario and Wii Sports U for E3 along with a Super Smash Bros. trailer.

Yikes, those Wii U sales are even worse than the VGC numbers which seemed incredibly low.  Looks like VGC has already made adjustments.  The Wii U will likely be under 50k WW next week.

I think releasing NSMB 2 so close to the Wii U has proven to be a colossal mistake.  Who is going to want to drop money on a new console to play a game series they just finished which also had a pretty poor reception.
