looks nice and better than current console-designs ;) i would love to see new consoles that have typical hifi-dimensions but i think this won't happen.

I doubt it. At least I hope  not....

PS3/360 were like the first HD consoles, so the components inside them didn't leave a lot of breathing room. PS4/720 are coming out in a time when Sony/MS have a lot of options in what to put in there and still be pretty powerful.

Needs two USB ports in the rear (USB HDD, and PS EYE). Also some front vents would probably be required. I prefer the boxes first position to be horizontal, but that's just me.

Personally, I wish Sony would make PS4 look more like a AV device. IMO, if Sony and MS want to have these devices taken serious as a media center for the living room, they should look the part.

No offense, but I'm glad none of you are product designers . Both the concepts posted are... mediocre. OP's one looks like a PC and the other one posted looks extremely inconvenient to use (diagonal disc drive?).

But please, blow me away with that sneak peek of the next design !

Looks a bit like the Xbox, but much better than PS3. I've always found the shape of the PS3 to be a bit ugly.

One designed it to be a standing unit. MS.

The other designed it to be laying flat. Sony.

Overall, I like Sony's much better when sitting in its proper position. Standing up, it looks akward.

I put my 360 standing up for a short time, but it scratched 2 of games quite a lot, so I put it back horizonally. 

Even when the PS3 is horizonal, I still don't like the way it looks. 

I like the black silver one! Much better than anything Sony has created with ps1, 2, or 3 lol. Actually has an attractive appearance with the 2-color scheme.
