Giving away a bunch of pc games for dirt cheap probably didn't help lol

"The Humble Bundle seems to have been a good move for the troubled publisher, its stock rose by 37.96 per cent on release day to over $1.60 a share"

THQ will even live on. This is a Chapter 11. It could go south in court and end up being a liquidation, but the franchises definitely will live on (Well Saints Row will, THQ doesn't have many other goodies since they destroyed Red Faction)

It's sad to see an once important developer go away like this. But when I remember all the garbage THQ has released in recent years(Darksiders and Saints Rows being exceptions). Going bankrupt was inevitable.

I feel sorry for Volition, those guys are talented.

I never played Metro 2033, but that seemed like a decent game there

Phew, South Park: Stick of Truth is safe!

Does this mean that Darksiders is dead? I can see easy to market IPs like Saints Row and Red Faction getting snatched up by other publishers, but Darksiders will probably get bundled and toss into the closet of some big publisher like Activision or EA. There it will sit unused until a cheap dev is tasked with using it to compete with something more popular.

upsetting to say the least. wishing THQ the best of luck. another middleware Publisher takes a hit, do to the cost of games development, and the 8th gen. won't make it any easier.

time to go mobile THQ

THQ emphasized that this bankruptcy will not affect any of the games they currently have in production, a library that includes Metro: Last LightSouth Park: The Stick of Truth, andHomefront II.

"All of the company's studios remain open, and all development teams continue," the press release reads. "The company remains confident in its existing pipeline of games."
