Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What are some good games on the 3DS?

Been a long time owner of my 3ds, but i haven't really used it... except for my pokemon games :/

Anyways i'm about to upgrade my smaller 3DS for the XL and i really need some suggestions :)

So far i'm thinking off

Animal Crossing 3DS

Professor Layton

Super Mario 3DS Land

Mario Kart 7

Zelda Ocarina of time

Is there anything else that i should look at? i'm a huge fan of platformers and RPG/JRPG's

Thanks BTW :)

Bet with ninjablade:

Ninjablade wins if the next 5 multiplat on the wii u are inferior to the 360 version.

I win if one of the 5 mulitplats are on par or superior on the Wii U.

Great list :D Also, is harvest moon any good?

Im not the right person to ask, those types of games dont interest me. If u like animal crossing im sure u will like harvest moon.

Based off your tastes,

- SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked and/or Tales of the Abyss only if you haven't played or owned the previous versions. Overclocked is a suped up version so you may want to get that one regardless.

- Cave Story (a 3D retail version and a digital one) if you haven't played it before.

- Shinobi, especially if you like a old school challenge with some modern trappings

- Mighty Switch Force (digital release), although you might be better off with the HD version on the Wii U.

- Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, not really a platformer or RPG, but a visual novel/adventure/puzzle game that normally blows people's minds with its story and the different routes it allows you to progress through the game.

- Fire Emblem: Awakening, still far off (February 2013 release) but should be a good title.

Look into Nintendo's eshop offerings. The Nintendo published games on the eshop are pretty damn good (Pushmo/Crashmo, Dillon's Rolling Western, Sakura Samurai, Ketzal's Corridors, Freakyforms, etc)

Mutant Mudds

Big fan of RPGs?  Get the Denpa Men: They Came By Wave.  I don't even like RPGs that much but I enjoyed this dungeon crawler a lot.

I wanted to add my list, but BasilZero has the better list for Retail-games and Sethnintendo the list for download-titles.

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

Avoid Two Towns.

Buy and play the everloving shit out of New Beginning. It's one of the best in the series, although it DOES have a slow first season.

I cannot stress enough how great Resident Evil : Revelations is. It's better than some of the "real" RE games.
