While I do find cross game chat a huge factor in 360's great success this gen, I do not think that inclusion alone will bolster PS4. Diminishing sales by not having it, yes. Now if PS4 has the same featured offerings as Xbox 3 it will sell a lot more unless Microsoft creates more games that become hits because right now Sony has the large stable of studios and exclusives. Chances are though both systems will have their own unique offerings, but basic things like cross game chat will be standard as well as the basic use of the console.



Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Apart from team up with Google to release a dirt cheap Nexus Playstation or something of complete meltdown at Microsoft, there really is nothing Sony can do next gen to beat Xbox in the US. Absolutely nothing.

You could argue most of the 3rd party game are better on xbox 360, but I think this matters very little to majority of American video gamers (wal-mart shoppers, COD players, significant others gift shoppers, non-fanboys) and they don't even know which games perform better on which platform.  All my friends on xbox live only get all games (especially) multiplayer on xbox live because party system is so difficult on PSN.  Everything else (netflix app, bing, etc) doesn't factor much into buying a console.

 

If PS4 can even the playing field by inclusion of cross game chat/party, why pay to play online?

the ability to control my media with out the need of a remote. i really use the voice controls a lot. as far as i know i cant get that any where else.

I meant that others will justify it regardless. We will hear things like it is still a great service but PSN is simply a better deal so its a matter of choice ect ect. Nothing will change if PS4 gets cross game chat.

so everything else will be exactly the same next gen or how do you know which reason people have to decide between different next gen consoles?

maybe ps4 will win because of the better price or a great tech we don't know about yet or xbox will win with a purchase of square and activision (lol)

Cross chat is a hardware and software issue. The PS3 cannot handle it because of their hardware, therefore, their online is already pretty dead on equal already. The PS4 they will have it on par so it really doesnt need to even be talked about. Third of all, Sony and Valve will most likely be working on continuing cross platform and any valve titles that were exclusive to the Xbox 360 will no longer maintain that level of exclusivity from the PS4. Left 4 Dead 3 PS4, just wait. Microsoft doesnt want to open themselves up to cross platforming, so they will be behind if they dont change their ways and Sony will be ahead is some respects.

but im just honestly asking what live offers, i dont care if people think ps+ is a better deal lol i just really wanna know what services they offer,i know its off topic lol :P
