Because of Sonys acceptance of the reality that online as a service needs to expand beyond a closed community, the PS3 (but more so the PS4) will excell.

This is a sad argument, indeed. They are STILL working with Sony. They want to compete with them, but they seem determined that cross play is the best bet for everyone. Their console will basically be a projection of what Steam offers in a box in the living room on a console that can handle the majority of the games. The question that remains is how customizable the box will be. That is the burning question Steam has yet to answer, because I highly doubt they'll be supporting it like the big three support their consoles. They are just bringing PC gamig to the living room through your same account if you choose and saying last year was a typo, you act like jumping on a mistake will help what you're saying.

Nah. The whole Valve liking PS3 is just blowing smoke. It doesn't make up for Left 4 Dead 1/2, Orange Box, and doesn't compare to the efforts MS allready made into cross platform gaming. Like Half Life Episode 3, Valve just put PS3 plans in limbo.

This Steam Box might be the answer to the PC gamers having an unfair advantage if this steam box comes with a custom gamepad. But thats pure speculation offcourse.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I completely agree. Cross Game Chat is very important even when we are playing the same game, because we never lost contact with our friends, even if we are not in the same lobby. Sending text message in 2012 is a big shame! And the lack of Party Chat on PS3 is not a PSN problem, its is a PS3 problem. This deficiency of the PS3 is a real factor for the victory of the X360 in the U.S.

Again, you must've completely ignored the fact that I've already told you once that MS doing that with other companies is not like them doing it with Valve. Microsoft has tried to make it into cross platform gaming without proper results. They need to open up their system more. It will have benefits.

I dont see the difference. No matter who does it....the PC crowd have better controls and will have a unfair advantage. You think Valve is gonna email all STeam users with:

"This game you bought is cross platform with PS3. Now dont play so hard or else they will complain they are losing too much and well never have more cross platform games again. Please, be super nice and adjust your mouse settings accordingly so its a fair match."

But in the end, this is all just "talk" and little results.

It's also about the apps. They just released a Skydrive app for the 360 (at least in the US). Any photos and videos uploaded to SkyDrive can now be accessed on your Xbox. It's little things like these that draw people to the Xbox and their more robust ecosystem.
