Is party chat free? No. Do you still pay for live to pay for netflix and other services which should be free? Yes. Are they setting a bad example for other console companies? Yes. My opinion is still valid even after not using live for 5 years which further shows how terrible Microsoft has been treating their loyal customers.

Yes I completely understand that but you have to remember this isn't 2005. Sony and Nintendo are arguably on par with Xbox when it comes to console features and social experiences and they are both offering it for free.

Pretty sure you experienced neither Party chat or Netflix on the 360 5 years ago which basically makes your opinion worth jack shit as you are unable to quantify objectively how it compares to the service offered by the PS3. How is this baiting thread still open when this whining has been done to death already in hundreds of threads.

All these articles are justifiable. Dude listen I could care less if you spend your money paying for xbox live. More power to you. I just feel really bad that Microsoft is getting away with it. Don't bring in the Sony vs Microsoft vs Nintendo shit in here. As I said I was writing this in a gamers perspective, not a fanboy perspective. 

and now? if they ask for 500 dollars per month it's their good right, just because others have other strategies to make a profit with their consoles doesn't mean microsoft has to have the same strategy and like we saw this gen with ps3 and 360, you have to do something to make profit over the years with those machines, it's not enough to hope to sell enough games if you sell your console for a huge loss the first years. nintendo has the strategy to make profit with a console which is sold for only a very small loss and then for profit after maybe a year, microsofts is to make profit with live, royalties and whatever and sony's is also little bit different.

so i could also complain that nintendo isn't selling the console for a huge loss because both others do it and because of that it's unfair that they don't do it.

every company can have the startegy they think is the best for them, if you like it or not. as long as nobody forces you to buy a 360 and pay for live everything should be fine...
