I get so happy every time I read these alternate console line-ups ^^

Anyway, if Sega's alternate consoles are profitable, then I really think they'd make a portable. Perhaps when 32X power is cheap enough to make portable to make it a leap over the Nomad.

When do you think Sega would try and make such a system? The late 90's or so? Other than 2D Sonic games, what would could they put on this portable system; Sega doesn't exactly have a killer lineup on OTL's handhelds. Perhaps Camelot would make games like Golden Sun for Sega's handhelds instead of Nintendo's?

Maybe you'd like to come other to the Alternate History wiki so we can discuss this in depth without cluttering up the Forum here?

Subtle

C'mon! We have cookies!

Sega always made portable versions of their most popular home consoles games and some sonic spinoffs, so that's probably what they would make for it. It might get some third part support as well.  Camelots Golden Sun is a good idea as well.

Oooo cookies! Link to the wiki pl0x.

Yes, you are. If you stick around, you might want to sign up, but what you did was more than acceptable.

Let's do the most Classic One... What if Nintendo and Sony work with each other honestly? I think Nintendo will have cold feet about CD Add-on after Mega-CD colossal failure but that was in hindsight, in japan, the PC-ENGINE SUPER CD was ultra popular and that was the thing who make nintendo start the deal in some first place(that and Minoro Arakawa Friendship with Sony high Leadership), Ideas someone?

This is a really great thread, Salnax!
Sadly, I'm not all too creative.

Edit: I just skimmed through the thread. You have quite an amazing imagination, Salnax! And it must've taken quite awhile to write it all down.

Umm sorry for the sudden bump, but this one is a big interesting what if

In 1990, a then-unknown Id Software approached Nintendo about the idea of porting Super Mario Bros. 3 to the PC. They manage to Partly port a level of SMB 3 to IMB PC clone EGA PC without any techical documentation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj4HJkeQSg0
In our world, Nintendo declined. Id went on to make Commander Keen instead, and from there they went to make Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake, practically defining the FPS And PC gaming as we know it. But in another timeline...
