Forums - Gaming Discussion - Marcus Beer speaks for gamers and questions validity of paying for Xbox Live it in front of Michael Pachter

Reality is Xbox live is worth nothing. It's really not worth paying just to use your own Internet connection. Why they make you pay it just to use Netflix ect is mad. PSN is just as good now as live. Reality is gamers should fight this but the Xbox fans won't do it.

Looks like Beer had a rough time with the Xbox 360. He said his profile got hacked, Gold is too expensive, too many ads, he gets owned by 12 year olds online, the Kinect games he hasn't played really suck. If I were him, I'd just leave the Xbox brand alone.

This more or less sums up Marcus Beer, to me he comes across in that video as a guy that is still pisses that his account got hacked.

Marcus has a legit gripe with Microsoft the same way he does with many corporate and gaming issues. Again, its an important issue because very few people question Microsofts moves in front of Michael Pachter. A lot of people on Gametrailers are agreeing with Marcus.

Gametrailer is not nearly a popular as it used to be as a matter of fact since they redesigned it its pretty much a total mess.

Yes, the contracts with Spike TV are definitely an indicator of its lack of popularity. After Adam Sessler left G4 he went straight to Gametrailers and did Bonus Round and E3 Gametrailers Spike TV access. Who are you trying to kid? Bonus Round has the most star studded gaming journalists in gaming, including developers  and the likes of Pachter on their panel. Of course this would be the one and only time Xbox 360 loyalists agree with Pachter.

Like honestly bro. If you have something against Xbox. Take it with Microsoft. Not against its gamers.

Dude....Tell that Pachter. He kind of labeled gamers who dont agree with Microsofts Xbox Live system.

Yeah.. key word there, KIND OF.

Anyway, theres no way in hell Halo 5 is goingto release in 2013. Just get 4, its REALLY good.

I was being subtle, its more of a reality. He DID label them, but I cannot blame Pachter since he represents the baby boomer corporatist American mindset. Pachter, I believe, only has an in with Microsoft, Activision and EA and not with Nintendo and Sony. Basically the the three American corporations with the same mindset towards gaming . Geoff even alluded to the probability that Microsoft might charge more for other things even though they are in a massive surplus around next gen. Anyone who has taken American marketing knows you that people control the market, but marketers know the psychology of how to slightly shift the hand of the american buyer (Again, it's risky and not always certain). This plays into the business strategy of how you will buy and when. It didnt work with windows Live, but it worked with Xbox Live. Its pretty simple to see how that was achieved.
