Well we had a chipped Playstation, so i bought chipped (Pirated games) probably because of the cost issue and getting the playstation chipped was only £10. But didn't bother with the PS2, and nowadays games are so cheap that it doesn't make much financial sense nevermind moral. But I do pirate music mostly videogame soundtracks though and borrowing other family members collections. Also because of this site it has definitely stopped me buying used games! (New is sometimes cheaper!)

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

Pirated the hell out of my DS games, PSP games, Wii games and PS2 games. Nothing for Vita or PS3 (I would think it has to do with not wanting to lose my PSN progress).

In the end though I still purchased 72 PS2 titles, 24 DS titles, 17 PSP titles, 22 Wii titles, 10 Vita titles and 51 PS3 titles, so do I feel bad? Of course not. I probably still contributed more to the industry then the "holier than thou" people who demonize people like me.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I did a bit through emulators and by modding an original Xbox. At the time though, how was I suppose to access those older games from dead systems. Buying used doesn't really add anything to the industry so late in the game. This gen, especially with PS3, older titles are far more available. Digital markets have really changed that. I barely acquired any current at the time games and felt bad if I did. The majority of those games were copied from the HDD of the guy who helped me mod, the rest I bought, though there was one time I rented some Xbox games to rip them to my HDD but it was only a few and I don't think I played them all anyway. The Xbox turned into a NES, SNES, Genesis, and 64 emulator. As well as letting me digitally store movies and play dvds without having to buy that Xbox remote (seriously wtf).

Today though I work, I still have debt but I'm not a student anymore. My money doesn't go straight to tuition. I game more now than I have ever before and pump quite a few dollars into the system.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Ofcourse, everyone has.

Is emulation consider pirating? If that's the case then I will probably go to jail since I played everything from the SNES and NES on an emulator, some handheld games as well. But other than that I pirated some PS1 games when I was a kid.

Nintendo and PC gamer

Considering games are well over $100 - $120 USD here for a new-release, you would expect me to pirate.
But, I enjoy gaming and supporting developers.
And it's not so bad as Steam has so many specials it counters the over-priced games that I buy anyway.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

When I was young and living paycheck to paycheck I did pirate some PC games which I would never have been able to play otherwise. Whenever possible I bought them when they dropped sufficiently in price.

I have modded my Wii, after five years and only grudgingly when it appeared there was zero chance of getting Xenoblade, et al in NA. I imported Xeno, TLS, Pandora's Tower, FFII:CB but 'pirated' others like Disaster:DoC and FFIV which I couldn't import. However, I'm a collector and have boosted my Wii collection with games I will most likely, never actually play but enjoy just seeing in my collection. Whenever I do end up playing one (for more than a few minutes) I do try to purchase it (Ivy the Kiwi? for example) although often their simply not possible to find anymore. I have 50 Wii games I bought, and another 50 I've bought and since sold (but still have digitally), 3-4 of which I rebought because I began playing them again. And another 100 I've pirated but don't play and won't likely ever play, and therefore would never pay for them, despite being 'good' games.

I never bought pirated stuff, but 99% of my friends pirate often. And I do not blame them, the games have the highest prices in the world in Brazil. For example, a PS Vita costs about $ 700 here.

We need moar Zelda, now!

We need moar Unchartedzz!

We need less DLCs.

Never pirate video games. I did pirate this one Japanese eroge, but that doesn't really count. Some pirated anime and lots of pirated pornography.
