i used to. when i was young it was because i couldn't afford the games. Than as i got older it was to try games before buying and movies. Now i dont do games at all, and movies only if there is nothing on demand for me to watch or at redbox to watch

It depends. Yes, I have pirated before. I generally have a rule that I will not pirate anything, unless it is like 10+ years old, really expensive, and hard to find.

One time I did pirate Killzone: Liberation when it was relevant and I honestly didn't even want to play it. Not because it was a bad game, but I was disappointed in myself for not paying the developer. I haven't did that since.

Most of my games are on my ps3 which I buy retail so I can have a nice collection, for devices such as the psp, ds and quite often the pc I am Jack Sparrow.

I pirate, but I have some guidelines to what I do and do not pirate.

I will NOT pirate a game, unless it's something I can't buy anymore, like SNES games. I have a tonne of emulators.

I don't remember the last time I paid for music.

I do occasionally pirate Movies and TV shows, but I prefer not to. Only do so when I legitimately can't afford to go to the theater or immediately buy the DVD/Blu Ray. If I like it, I ALWAYS buy it. I have a collection of over 500 movies, like 80 of which are blu rays.

I have a pirated copy of photoshop, but most of my computer programs are legit.

I don't like to pirate, and if I had more money I'd never ever do it, but the fact of the matter is that I can't afford it and there are means to get it, so why not? I'm not going to live a miserable life devoid of entertainment just because some rich people want to get richer and don't share my opinions on sharing the wealth.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

I did once (well, actually, a family member did and I played the games he pirated). But I immediately stopped when I learned that it was an illegal practice, and from that day on I've been pretty big on anti-piracy (save for crap solutions like SOPA/PIPA)

Every game costs at least 50% more than in the US

As an adult with more money than free time I don't get much of a benefit from pirating games, but when I was younger (in my teen years) I had the opposite problem so I did regularly pirate games ...

With that said, I think that there is far less reason to pirate games today than there was when I was a kid. Between free to play, discounted games, and cheap digital distribution options there is a ton of games out there that can be bought cheaply.
