Forums - Gaming Discussion - I think EGM Halo 4 review is rational

This EGM reviewer made some really good points.

"...problem stems from the fact that, unlike most modern games that claim to care about narrative, Halo 4 doesn’t seem interested in moving into modern storytelling via integrated objectives.."

My Oppinion: I really think that since Halo CE, the Halo series has gone down hill. It should have sequences similar to that of most modern shooting games. I think 343 industries was afraid to make Halo 4 a generic shooter.

"...when it comes to game mechanics and level design, ignoring obvious enhancements like big-ticket sequences and proper iron-sights mechanics in favor of their age-old addiction to slow, methodical combat in unnecessarily large environments..."

My Oppinion: Definitely made an excellent point here  'age old' mechanics! I mean who would want to play the same formula twice? They should have iron sights like true FPSs do. Plus enclosedenvironments and faster kills would make Halo an excellent twitch fps. I mean if this reviewer pointedout that Halo4 needs to have a quickscope mechanic.. i'd be buying him some drinks!!!

Thanks Brandon Justice! For pointing out what gamers truely wants for Halo.

Yay!!!

Not to mention the lack of killstreaks. When I am dominating, I want the game to reward me by giving me a repeating cycle of advantages over my opponent. Additionally, it takes too many bullets to kill someone. Every gun should be able to kill within 3-5 bullets and every gun should be able to perform head shots. And it should be more linear too. No one likes to roam around large open levels. This is a video game, not a field trip.

Yeah this was one of the worst reviews Ive ever seen.its one thing to not that he didnt like it.

He litteraly scores the review low because its not COD. Unbelievable honestly

Is this the one that gave it 7/10? THEN IT'S ABOUT MOGHERFUCKIN GARBAGE HALO DESERVES 11/10 IT REVOLUTIONARY AND AWESOME

The guy who wrote this sleeps with a Cod game besides him. Halo is unique and awesome. It doesn't have to be like Cod to be successful. People love it how it is.

IRON SIGHTS? COME ON.

I think the halo formula is pretty solid.
Its kinda the same game over and over, but it is very goldneye esque and has some new mechanics every game.
