1. PS3 has a new slimmer model out there.. bundled with the 2ND BIGGEST GAME THIS HOLIDAY SEASON NEXT TO CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS II, that is ASSASSINS CREED III...

2. Move isn't fictional..

3. BLACK OPS 2 IS ALSO ON PLAYSTATION 3... you all act as if it's exclusive to 360.. I mean if it sold 2 million on ps3.. and 12 million on 360.. then sure.. you can bring up a case.. but they sell very well on both platforms.. and push a lot of hardware for both platforms..

4. Japan and Europe are going to be easily dominated by the ps3.. UK/US are probably going to be the only markets where the 360 sells more than the ps3..


I agree... but enought to pass xbox??

Im not really sure if you're kidding or not. Based on what Xbox 360 offered this year and WILL offer this holiday.

This Nov-Dec will not close the 1.7 mil gap but will only increase it by the holidays.

1. The new slimmer model wont have a noticeable effect on sales; it's not like it has a price cut or anything. 

2. I know, but it's popularity is nowhere near the Kinect, so Kinect will appeal to the motion control market which will subsequently increase sales.

3. Yeah, I know, but it sells a lot more on X360. It always gives the X360 a massive hardware boost.

4. I doesn't matter where they sell, it matters how much they sell.

You really can't say it(Move)'s not nearly as popular as kinect.. I know kinect has sold a lot of units, but Move has also sold millions of units as well.. and always sells well during the holidays..

COD does not sell wayyyy more on the 360.. and it gives the ps3 a boost too..

EUROPE and JAPAN are the 2nd and 3rd largest markets in gaming..

Maybe, maybe not.

On the one hand you have the PS3 which sells very good right now, especially given the stage this generation is in. On the other you have the XBox that has the biggest selling games this holiday and it's traditionally good holiday sales.

So I'm still inclined to go with "No it can't", but it can go either way really.

Will Halo 4 really improve 360 sales? It seems that anyone who's into Halo should have one by now.

Depends on how badly saturation and the WiiU launch effects the 360 in the USA this holiday. Take a look back at the DS when it got a price cut in 2010. There's some interesting parallels between its 2010 and 360s 2012. MS might be making a mistake with this constant $50 discount. It will likely just have the effect of bringing December sales forward like last year. In terms of sell through it's not very likely but it wouldn't surprise me if PS3 passes 360 in terms of shipments.

As I said last year in a thread like this, the last three months of the year is greater than or equal to the first nine months of the year in sales. It comes down to the strong finish.

It disturbs me that a user from 2008 and 2007 (Leo-J) doesn't know one of the first things you learn on this site: The PS3 loses to the 360 at the end of the year. That's just how it is.

Probably not. It will be very unlikely with Halo 4 and CoD coming up. It really does not matter at this point. Both consoles have nothing else to prove. They did great, although the Wii is the definite winner, sales wise.
