I have been having this discussion with d21lewis comparing the Balance Board to Kinect. Then it hit me, Kinect is treated like a primary controller because it is a primary controller. The Balance Board is an attachment if anything. It can't navigate menus (I haven't seen it do it) and usually when people are using it they have a Wii remote in hand (take a look at the commercials). It had limited hardware bundles and was made to make one piece of software possible (Wii Fit). So why is the Balance Board compared to it, instead of the Wii Remote? What I have been seeing is if its compared to the Wii Remote then it would take a slaughter lol. So it seems to me people want to compare it to something it was never made to mimick in the first place. Kinect does all types of games (casual if you will) just like the Wii remote. The Balance Board can't do alot of the games Kinect could but the Wii remote can. All of this points to the Wii remote should be compared to Kinect. Below I will list some similarities for both. If I miss any please help me complete the list.
Kinect vs. Balance Board
Fitness games
Foot related sports games (skateboarding, soccer, sledding)
Wii Remote vs. Kinect
Fitness games
Sports games
Dancing games
heavy bundles with hardware
both act as main controller
neither was made for only one game like Wii Fit
Edit: I give in, Kinect isn't comparable to the Wii Remote or Balance Board. Kinect and the Balance Board are the most successful non-button having devices ever.
