Forums - PC Discussion - is this tablet a good deal? only looking for something cheap

Hey guys, i was thinking of buying a cheap tablet for playing Andriod games and browsing  the net when in bed (I just want something with a screen bigger then my iphone) id like the get the opinion of some guys here who knows about tablets if this http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/12595219/art/memwah/mt002a-7-slimline-android.html?tag=mail_ie_uk_2012-08-11_64195&srcid=3666 would be a good deal?? and how well would it run games??

I have not heard about that tablet brand or know about that particular mode. You should look into google nexus 7 tablet. It is the official android tablet and you get the updates first. I think it should be around 160 pounds for 8 GB. I am sure you can find some deals from local retailers.

I was about to recommend Nexus 7 too. Better off going with more known brands, especially when it comes to tablets

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Yeah, get the Nexus, or a Kindle fire maybe

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

First off, I'm always skeptical of Android tables because frankly a lot of them suck (though that's more my opinion than fact). As much fun as it is to hate Apple, iPads are about the best tablets around (especially for what you want).

Second, if you're buying the cheapest tablet you can find you're going to get exactly what you pay. A cheap, bad tablet.

Third, if something is 40% off there's generally a good reason for that. If it's something well-known like the Kindle suddenly getting $110 off that means there's probably a new version around the corner. If it's something largely unknown (I could find nothing on that tablet) that's suddenly 40% off, it's probably because they can't sell the thing.

Don't get it.

Yeah, I agree. If you get a cheap tablet, it is just going to be a frustrating experience, unless you get a Nexus 7 I think! (I also think tablets are mostly pointless)

Or else maybe this one for the bigger screen? plus it has a higher res.

Im going to go for one of them as i do only want something cheap and im willing to take a chance on one of them. so for anyone that knows tablet specs what one should i get?. It seems the one with the smaller screen would be faster but i dont really know about tablet specs.

If you need to go cheap go buy the Lenovo A1  it cost me 130 euros a few months ago its okay it doesnt have the newest android but I can watch youtube I can play HD videos on it I can skype I even control my Onkyo AVR with the thing.

It has a resolution of 1024x600

If you buy cheap, the spec may not be bad but it will be frustrating to use and unsupported after a few months.

Go for the Nexus.
