Forums - Sony Discussion - Prediction: Sony to announce CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS II for PSV, EXACT REPLICA

Tagged games:

Sony will announce CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS II FOR PLAYSTATION VITA, AND WILL LAUNCH A HUGE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGH FOR CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS II ON PLAYSTATION VITA

THE GAME WILL BE AN EXACT REPLICA OF THE GAME ON THE PS3/360, RUNNING AT A LOWER RESOLUTION, AND AT LESS THAN 60FPS.... BUT WITH THE SAME EXACT VISUALS....

the biggest thing about this prediction is the fact that I, leo-j, predict that the game will over CROSS PLAY BETWEEN PS3 AND PSV ONLINE ON THE GO, ANYWHERE THERE''S A WIF HOTSPOT, SONY WILL ADVERTISE THIS FEATURE EXTENSIVELY, AND THIS WILL BE THE GAME CHANGER SONY TOUTS IT WILL BE, CALL OF DUTY ONLINE, EXACTLY THE SAME AS ON PS3, AND OVER PSN, ALLOWING ONLINE MATCHES FROM PS3 VS PSV, AND VICE VERSA....

If this does happen.... how much of an affect would it have on playstation as a whole? What about the effect that launching a console CALL OF DUTY on PSV with the same online features as on PS3, and cross play against PS3 players on the go do to vita sales?

This actually isn't a bad prediction.

Minus the exact replica and cross platform part.

The caps were slightly annoying, but an interesting prediction overall.
Tagging for future reference :)

Call of duty engine is very old tech, Treyarch confirmed they won't be upgrading their engine in CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS II, this engine is the same tech from Call of Duty 4, that allowed a locked 60FPS/640P performance on console... or less on ps3 at least resolution wise... either way... it would make sense.... porting COD BOPS II to vita running at 30-40FPS, at a lower reosolution than on ps3/360, would work.... and.... why not? Konami demonstrated a demo of MGS4 ported from ps3 running at around 20fps with the same exact visuals onto vita.... compared to running over 30fps(maybe up to 60fps)during a cutscene from the ps3 game...

I've been saying this since February hahaha.

Any way as long as they follow Uncharted's rout with motion aiming it will sell a lot of systems. The combo of twin sticks and motion sensing would make Vita users have an advantage over PS3 or at least be on par.

I don't think so, because it wouldn't sell well. Not many people own a Vita and not another console, so they'd get the game for that instead. If it was slightly different, like the DS version, crossed with the 3DS, it'd sell better.

For sales, if it's an exact copy, then 30k boost on top of holiday boost, 200k FW, 1.8mil LT.

A slightly different copy- 40k boost, 250FW, 2mil LT.

Regardless of what Sony believe, not many people want a Vita to play home console games, as they can play them on a home console where they know what will happen and what to expect. The Vita version of any game needs to be unique. if it's identical it'll fail hard.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Sony have made porting to the Vita easy. So if they do decide to take a risk, they will use little resources and money to port it so the risk is very little. It would have to big a major flop for them to lose money.

If they make a different version then they will have to put more money it to it and take a bigger risk. They might see it not being worth it.

I agree with all except the advertising bit - doesn't Microsoft hold exclusive rights to advertise Call of Duty? After every CoD advert the 360 logo comes up

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
crossplay would be huge, i think that would move some systems, a bundle would be a great idea
