What you replied to wasn't serious. I don't think I did much wrong though, in my opinion he's a poor user in general (Whether you think I am aswell doesn't change that), gives off a youtube comment vibe if you know what I mean, so I don't really care if I lightly trolled him, and I'm not denying that I did.

Meh, just report me if you think it was really that bad.

Even if he is a poor user, which he may be, it's still wrong to poke fun at him in a thread he hasn't been in. (A better action would be to tell him personally that he should increase his quality, imo). But that wasn't my main beef anyway. I'm sure it wasn't serious and I don't have a problem with the trolling at all (i chuckled a bit myself).

I just feel annoyed when people do these things and try to act like you're not wrong after the fact. You said you didn't troll him when he retaliated to your comment. You then later said that you didn't literally troll him, which is what counts. It's these things that upset me. The fact that you didn't at least acknowledge your actions is my problem (although you have admitted it in this post), not the actual trolling.

It reminds me of this one particular user whom constantly went into XXX threads making stealth attacks at fans, the console, & the company. I could deal with the trolling. I just hated how he felt that he was innocent because he worded his trolling remarks nicely enough so that it wasn't explitly trolling. (You're no where near as bad as him though)

No, I'm not going to report you because A.) This incident just isn't that important imo and B.) I find that personally telling someone what they're doing wrong & how they can improve (from my perspective of course) is much better than reporting them. I believe people can change with a little external encouragement (not saying you need much change, just explaining why I don't really report people). I only report people with a strong determination to hurt others with no hope for change.

For the record, I don't think you're a poor user. I think you're pretty good and you're actions in this thread haven't change how I think of you at all. I just needed to finally acknowledge something that I hated to see after so many times of biting my tongue. So I may be unfairly directing my bottled up frustrations at you, but I hope not. If so, I apologize.

Another thing everyone could be doing more often to help the community is to tell posters clearly and directly that you find their post and/or general behavior unacceptable. Too often, others will simply stoop to the same level and resort to a defensive tirade and even name calling and other times people will simply avoid the topic altogether.

All in all, like I've said so many times before, Vgzhartz is actually a pretty well behaved set of boards with few episodes and a lot less drama than most other forums I frequent. I remember the joy of coming here after posting on IGN and Gamespot for a couple of years...
I am a bit curious to see who will replace Machina though and I think I'll personally miss his work on the boards. He'll still stick around as a member but he's been doing a good job as a mod so its a loss for us anyways.

I admitted to you I trolled him; "so I don't really care if I lightly trolled him, and I'm not denying that I did."   That's why I said report me if it was really that bad. I did deny however that it was anything serious; "I don't think I did much wrong." That doesn't mean I didn't do anything wrong at all, just nothing serious. I am fully aware of how the sly wording works and that was part of the troll, I know it's the same as explicitly trolling, so again, not denying I did any wrongdoing.

Deleted the rest so this takes up less space, appreciate it.

I could get behind this if it's kept civil.

Don't call other users fanboys or trolls, even if you think they are, because:

a) You're breaking the rules yourself

b) You could well be wrong

c) The flaming is just going to escalate from there.

In my book, clearly and directly does not equal rude and childish. It ties in with the sentence right after, most people lower themselves to name-calling and misconduct to get their point across if they feel that someone has trolled or behaved badly.

I do agree, of course, that it has to be kept civil, at all times.
